HWY 70 BBQ — Restaurant in Tennessee

Took my Mother here for lunch as it was suggested that we should try their Bar-b-que❗ My meal was pretty good, I had the ribeye sandwich❗I thought the portions of the sides was a little stingy, when you consider the price. My Mother got ribs, half slab, she got 6 bones, all small and from the short end of the slab, not a mixture. They were absolutely cooked to death❗ A decent taste, just not a lot of it. A tad bland, we used a good amount of hot and sweet heat sauce, for the taste, and so over cooked, no texture at all. I was very disappointed because this is one of a few BBQ restaurants that actually has pork ribs❣ Real ribs, St Louis style ribs, and not a strip of pork chop bones they are trying to pass off as ribs😩 We will not revisit for ribs, for sure. The dining area was sufficient, and looked clean, as well as the restrooms. They have only a menu board and NO menus for the table, my mom could not see the board. Boast for HWY 70 BBQ to start off with the customer service was fantastic! The ladies here were so helpful with answering questions & making sure we got the perfect bbq sauce.

I ordered the plate with 2 sides & got the shredded pork with the potato munchems & the potato salad. So the pork was very tender & cooked perfectly. The potato muchems are a fried cheesy tater tot. These weren’t my favorite but my friend Charity Cruz liked them. The potato salad was a bacon ranch mixture. I’m not really a fan of ranch but this was pretty good. I tried the vinegar based bbq & the sweet one. Out of the two I liked the sweeter one better. It was thicker as where the vinegar one was more liquified.

My friend ordered the sliced shoulder with mac & cheese & green beans. It was very tender & flavored nicely. The mac & cheese was a little bland but had potential. The green beans were seasoned & cooked perfectly. She liked the vinegar bbq over the sweet one.

I had beef wanting to try the BBQ at HWY 70 BBQ for a while and I’m so glad I finally got to try it. I got the Loaded BBQ Potato with their delicious sweet BBQ sauce. They gave me enough food for 2 or more to eat and it was so delicious. The meat is tender & juicy so well cooked. The potato was huge and had all the fixings, butter, sour cream, shredded cheese & bacon topped with a huge amount of the pork meat. I am a sauce girl so I ordered extra sauce & I’m so glad I did because I had enough food left over for lunch the next day so the extra sauce came in handy. I will definitely be going back for more & try some other things on their menu.
