What a sad sad day for the doodle. What happened? Food is no way What it use to be. Peppers and onions burnt on my hamburger steak. When served, the roll basket was on top of my peppers, onions and steak which seemed a bit un sanitary and almost like they were trying to hide the burned food. Coleslaw was immediately spit out at soon as it my mouth due to it tasting soured. I did enjoy the fish but my company stated it was too gamey for him. Fries were typical frozen fries, salad was good and fresh but was disappointed to see imitation bacon bits present. Pricing was fair. Menu seemed very co fusing as we had already had our meals picked to learn the back side is lunch only. Meaning no okra, mashed potatoes or beans for dinner, lunch only. Fries, and slaw only for dinner which was very disappointing. Sadly I won't be returning and I'm very sad as this was one of my go to dinner places. I would love to have asked the new owner or server to eat a bite of my onions and peppers that were an extra cost on my hamburger steak, only to not be edible. Dessert was good: banana pudding and chocolate pie! Bananas were a bit "not done" for my taste but was still tasty.

How this place doesn’t have a solid 5 star rating, I will never know. We were driving through and thought we would try it. We both ordered giant cheeseburgers and let me tell you, this is the best burger ever!! The meat is perfectly seasoned, the bun was perfect. I ordered bacon on mine and the bacon was CRISPY and perfect!! So delicious. The food was HOT also, literally had to let it cook down. Our server was attentive and friendly. I ordered the coconut pie and it was delicious!! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

The Doodle Family Restaurant Great is located just off interstate 40 north of Cookeville, Tennessee. I ordered their giant burger with fries and yes it was a giant burger dressed out with lettuce, tomato, pickles and onion. Crinkle fries came with it and completed a great first time meat at this restaurant. Fast service, great food and awesome prices have this place on the must visit list when in the area.

This is the first time we've been to the Doodle since the ownership change. We probably will not be back. Everything is over priced for the quality of food. I ordered a grilled chicken salad and couldn't eat it. Something tasted really off putting like spoiled and it was mostly lettuce. My son ordered the fried mushrooms and they were soggy and wet in the middle, my daughter ordered the lunch catfish platter. The catfish was chewy in the middle, hush puppies burnt (literally black) and the fries were kinda raw in the middle. My daughter in law ordered a kids 2 piece chicken strip dinner for my grandkids and they brought a one piece out. The waitress said since it was a bigger piece of chicken, that it's the same as a 2 piece dinner. My son's fries were raw in the middle and so were the fries for the kids meal. The only reason we wanted to eat at The Doodle was for the pies. Pie was the only reason we drove out that far to eat. We settled for the banana pudding. It was decent. The waitress said they were out of pie. Our waitress was nice. But, it seemed like she forced...

My wife left her bracelet there and she contacted them about. Have the messages to prove this. Said they would ship it back to her due to its meaning to her. This has been on going for months now. I have reached out as well only to be ignored. I would give them a 0 star for customer service and communication. I am going to go on all reviews until someone contacts me from the restaurant and solves this. I am retired and nothing else to do. So wouldn't waste my time with a place that cares so little about there customers and there so called customer service. There is none. Update We have been told for the last few months that they're going to send this bracelet back and yet nothing we have offered to pay for the shipping and yet have no response. We've also asked if they still have it because for the last 30 days they have not contacted us. We have asked to come up and even get it but we don't want to drive 3 hours if they don't have it for some reason now. So this place is definitely not family friendly or customer service friendly. They stand behind lies...
