UPDATE: GM called...very nice lady...resolution in progress. Stars raised and review edited. May further adjust after completed resolution.
The other day my teen son told me he wanted to try a McFlurry for the first time ever. Today I was driving by the Karns McDonald's and decided to swoop in and get him one. When I was at the window, after paying, I watched the lady making it. I didn't see the initial part of her work, but I saw her pull the handle on the Oreo dispenser and dump a pile of Oreo crumbs on top of the ice cream. I thought surely she had already mixed some in previously and that was just an extra topping of them. I drove all the way home and took it to my son. I went outside for a few minutes and came back in and my son and eaten the McFlurry. I asked him if it was made correctly. He asked me how it was supposed to be made, and I said the Oreos are mixed into the ice cream. He laughed and said no, just on top. I went back to McDonald's with my receipt. They said their policy is they cannot replace it without the food in hand. (I thought that was done away with during COVID.) Anyway, they refused to make it right. I saw the lady who made it. I asked her why she did it, and she said she just handed it to me but "I didn't say I made it". Incredulous, I told her, "I saw you make it". (It was only 10 minutes before.) She refused to even apologize. I told her thanks for wasting my money. When this McDonald's is bad, it's really bad. She was wearing a manager's shirt, but she wasn't the main manager. He was the one I dealt with. His hands were tied by policy and he was at least apologetic and polite. She was evasive about making it, admitted she knows how to make it, and refused to apologize for making it wrongly...on purpose! I may call the Farris people who own it who's name is on the sign on the drive thru window, but my experience in past years was that is a waste of time. They never return phone calls. They don't seem to care. No wonder this McDonald's continues to have problems. When they're bad, they're really bad and some there simply...
Read moreI ordered 1 Oreo McFlurry with Extra Oreo on it and Large Cup of Sweet Tea on the McDonald’s app for picking up at the drive through on Sunday, December 24, 2023 on Christmas Eve Day and when I go to the drive-through line, I never heard the employee asking me what do I want to order and I had to call their store saying I was at the drive-through and there’s nobody asking me what I want from my order then finally the store answered my phone saying the manager or employees saying that they only one staff but I see more than one staff working then I waited for a manager manager employee answer the speaker asking me what I want my order then I read my order number XW55 and then they told me to pull up to the second drive-through window as soon I pull up to the window employees saying that They are ran out of sweet tea. But they could’ve told me at the drive-through before me pulling up to the second window because the manager said they never see what do I order even though I read my order number XW55 and I employees of McDonald’s on Clinton Hwy Knoxvile, Tennessee but they should’ve know what I ordered since I give them my order number even I and it should pop up on their monitor screen what I order because I work at McDonald’s when a customer have a mobile app order I can tell what does the customer order because it popped up on the computer screen monitor but this employee or the manager never told me this before when I was at the drive-through before, pulling up to the second window, they said I would recommend going to a McDonald on Oak Ridge Hwy and I asked for a refund but he told me to do it on the app but the app is telling me to contract the restaurant and the restaurant telling me how to do an app so therefore I’m disputing discharge with my bank...
Read moreI went in there the other day to buy the most expensive meal-combo they have on the menu (Double Quarter Pounder). I stood up at the counter forever with all of these workers moving about and none of them acknowledging me. They weren't all busy either. Several walked past me on m side of the counter. At one point, a worker walked to the back and yelled out loud, "John, get out of the bathroom!" (I think she said "John", but not sure.) I guess he was the guy supposed to be working the counter. He didn't come up. I left. I called the number on the window for John Farris in Clinton (who owns it) and left a message, but never got a call back. I've spent A LOT of money at this McDonald's over the years. I thought the service had gotten better. Apparently it's relapsed. The new interior design is very austere, sparse, and downright un-homey. It makes you feel very uncomfortable. It's very open now. Gone is the semi-coziness of the old design (which was a modern design in and of itself). I guess they don't want you sticking around very long to get comfortable but want you to eat and get out. The chairs are just a step above those cheap patio-party chairs. It's a joke. It looks like a cheap sushi bar in Tokyo. Oh well, I probably need to stop eating this...
