First - I do not do 5 star reviews. That said.. I love this place.! Today was my first visit, and although it is a little pricey, in today's Mkt everything is. However the quality of the food. The care that is put into each dish.. With a woman; whom I can only assume is the co-owner with her husband, who has made it her life's mission to serve the customer to her fullest potential. I always like to get something simple and basic, yet essential to get correct. Today I ordered biscuit and gravy; which did not have a photo op, and an egg sandwich. The biscuit and gravy didn't stand a chance. This was no instant garbage, this was not thrown together by someone who probably didn't even taste it.. No, No, No..... This was a well balanced, very tasty, full mouth feel, homemade gravy y'all... I'm talkin bout your tongue will beat your brains out trying to get another bite good, and plenty of gravy too, and a light tasty biscuit. The sandwich is just what I wanted. Mayo, Lettuce, Tomato, egg. Simple, yet so we'll done.. And this lady owner has it all under control, and I love her. I want her to be my adopted mother.. 😂 Go in, and enjoy a little slice of the South by some folks who have us pretty down pat.. Local to Lovell Rd, Hardin Valley, Cedar Bluff, and not far from Karns, so get out and treat the family to some good homemade food, and an atmosphere that's like being at home. Love this place.!

I was really hoping Nick and J’s Cafe would end up being one of those hidden gems—the kind of mom-and-pop place you can brag about finding and call your go-to breakfast spot. The food was good, maybe not quite fantastic, but certainly enjoyable. The biscuits and gravy had a nice flavor, and the eggs and bacon were cooked well. I did ask for the bacon to be cooked well done, so if you prefer it less crisp, they can probably accommodate that too. The potatoes were a little undercooked, but everything else was very satisfactory. What really stood out was the service—friendly, attentive, and exactly what you hope for in a local diner. The value was also solid; you get a hearty meal for a fair price. That said, I can’t help but compare it to Waffle House, which in my opinion still has them beat when it comes to breakfast overall (I know that might ruffle some feathers, but it’s the truth for me). All in all, Nick and J’s is worth a visit if you enjoy supporting a locally owned spot with good food, great service, and fair prices. If I could give it a 4.5, I probably would—but since I have to pick, it’s a 4 out of 5.

My husband and I visited on Friday for lunch. We were lucky to find a parking spot because they are always slammed! It had been years since we had been here, but one thing has not changed: it's awesome! I had the club and my husband had a bacon cheeseburger. They were both top notch. The onion rings were some of the best I've had. We sat at the counter so our waitress never let us run out of drinks. She was such a sweetheart and really knows (or gets to know) her customers. You can tell there's lots of regulars. She talked us into dessert. Ok, it didn't take much convincing. The peanut butter pie and banana pudding were phenomenal! Their prices are great for the amount of food you get. We will definitely be back soon for breakfast! Ok, so breakfast is just as amazing! We lucked out and they happened to be opened on a Sunday. The pancakes and biscuits & gravy were delicious! They also had homemade cinnamon rolls available and they did not disappoint! The staff and owners are always so friendly. A must visit in Knoxville!

In my line of work I am on the road a lot, and nearly always need to have lunch out. I had been in the Lovell Rd area and was needing lunch. I stopped in at Krystals at 1pm, and the staff was running around like chickens with their heads cut off. There was a line of people waiting, and the staff was not taking order from the new customers because they were too busy trying to get food to customers who already made their selections.

I and my helper decided to go elsewhere, and I remembered hearing good things about Nick and Jay's, so that's where we went.

We walked in, sat at the bar and the friendly staff took our order. One lady, who appeared to be the owner/manager, was extremely friendly and made us feel at home. She said "If you like burgers then you'll definitely want to try one here". So I did.

My helper had the Steak N A Sack and I had the Nick and Jay's Way Burger. It was amazing. The bun was out of this world and the burger was terrific. I only wish I had known they have sweet potato fries...

I got a piece of Baklava for the road, which was also amazingly good.

I definitely recommend them if you're in the area. I have to say they are as good as...

An absolute jewel of a diner in Hardin Valley, just off TN-162, approx. a 10-min drive from I-40 in West Knoxville. Najawan has made his restaurant into a must-visit dining experience in all of Knoxville. The portions are huge and in spite of the fact that they are jammed pack for lunch, the food prep staff take the extra time on the order presentation. You know how often you receive a meal and it just kills the appetite to see a burger on your plate that appears it was driven over by a truck? You won't have your visual senses assaulted and insulted at this place. The BLT on sourdough is da bomb as well as the burgers and killer gyro. I finish with lunch here and I'm set for the remainder of the day. The burgers feature hand-pressed, 100% beef patties grilled to absolute perfection. The breakfasts are unrivaled and will certainly satisfy you before embarking on an extended road trip. For lunch, it's best to arrive between 11:30 - 12:00, because there is always a wait. The parking is an issue as there are spaces for roughly 20 -25 vehicles and there is limited street parking to the east of the building. They operate only until mid-afternoon, so there is no...
