If you're looking for a classic mom-and-pop diner vibe, this local spot offers a straightforward experience perfect for a quick meal. My son really loves their hamburgers, and it's conveniently located just down the road. Their breakfast options are generally decent, though I found that the gravy, french toast, and pancakes could use some improvement. On a previous visit, I tried the catfish sandwich, which was a bit disappointing—the small bun seemed more substantial than the catfish itself. Last week, I decided to try one of their specials: chicken and dressing with mashed potatoes and green beans. Unfortunately, this meal fell short. The green beans were overly greasy and lacked seasoning, while the dressing appeared as an unappealing gray mass that I barely touched. The mashed potatoes tasted like the instant variety, which didn't enhance the meal at all. In terms of service, our drinks were promptly refilled, but I wish the waitress had checked on us regarding the unfinished food. I ended up nibbling on my son’s fries to satiate my hunger. Overall, this diner could work well if you’re after a simple breakfast or a burger. However, if you’re looking for a more attentive dining experience or higher-quality meals, you might want to explore other options. It does have its charm, especially for those who enjoy a laid-back atmosphere. Prices are reasonable.

*** this review written after 3rd visit *** This place is a hidden gem, the staff keeps the place clean and they are friendly even when busy! If they are busy it may take a little for food to come but the quality is great each time I've went , not like it was rushed. You can tell the difference, and the price you cant beat. Least meal 3 of us ate and its was $23 then I tipped. They do offer lemon packets for drinks and not lemon wedges which is different but not a deal breaker. I enjoyed the crinkle but fries last time and VERY pleased they were not soggy or over cooked! PSA, do not be timid about sitting up at service bar area. I was surprised it was more comfortable than the booths, I am short and the foot ledge was great for my feet to rest on :)

I don,t like to give a bad review and I won,t for a new place but this has been around for some time. It took 10 minutes for someone to acknowledge us after all there were 3 people there. We had decided on catfish and fried chicken they were out of both my companion decided on the special of Salisbury steak and I decided on the hickory smoked pork bbq sandwich but they were out of of it as well the waitress suggested the roast beef sandwich. I got it with fries and white beans. The fries and beans were good the roast beef was like inner tube. My companions meal was just as bad. We felt it was a waste of $20.00! The time of day was 3:15 PM l can not understand how it gets any good reviews must be friends and relatives!

Profoundly bad. Atmosphere was promising. I like a country diner but dear god the food…

Mashed potatoes tasted like the potatoes were boiled in mop water. Strange aftertaste. That particular item should be simple so long as you remember butter and salt. The other sides in my meat and three were completely bland. Copious pepper and hot sauce could not save them. I asked the waitress if the fried chicken was white or dark meat and she couldn’t answer. (It was white meat)

But what might be worse is that my wife’s omelette had raw egg white inside of it. This represents two bad signs. 1) They didn’t properly mix the egg they use to make the omelettes (another thing that seems simple) and 2) when they dropped the egg on the griddle/pan they immediately threw in the lukewarm veggies on top of the raw egg instead of fluffing the omelette to ensure it cooks through before adding the interiors. This meant the outside was pushing overcook while much of the inside was still raw.

I see more positive reviews stating how waitress never returned after food was dropped. Same experience here. We actually had to go get our own silverware.

Majority clientele was elderly so you know they grew up on their parents and grandparents canned Great Depression cooking so maybe they can’t tell how sub par it is. My grandmother was the same way and her cooking sucked too. There were kids there but it seemed like they went for burgers, grilled cheese and French fries. That may be your best bet if you find yourself here.

You want places like this to be good but they’re always 50/50 when you try them. Not good. Waffle House is more reliable and about...

Writing this as I still sit in restaurant. I read the reviews and I must have missed something because nothing I have saw today or tasted says anything short of close this dump down. Worst diner and food in history. Waitress went outside for a period of time then came in and my wife asked if my drink could be refilled as it had sat empty for some time. She said ok the proceeded to the cook and shared something on her phone then leaned against the counter on her phone before finally deciding to get my drink all without washing her hands of course. Cook brought food even shoved my ticket under my hamburger steak to keep it on plate. never saw waitress again rest of time. Never came back to table. Fried apples was more like apple sauce. Hamburger steak was soaked in grease and turned my stomach. Worst food ever. Worst service ever. Close it down. A 90 minute drive for possibly worst food I’ve ever had. Kid checking ringing me up had to look up prices and ask me what I was drinking. Waitress went to bathroom and never returned. No one serving or taking care of almost 3/4 full place. It’s actually sad. I was excited when I saw the place and even when I walked in. Now I’m regretting ever stopping. McDonald’s would have been like a Top tier New York steakhouse compared to this joint. Don’t waste your time or money. He’ll throw your money in the river beside this place before you...
