The service was amazing! The nicest people you will ever meet. We had the 3 pc catfish dinner and fried pickles as a carryout dinner split between two people. The fish was breaded perfectly, no grease. The fish was fresh and flaky, the fried pickles were well seasoned and also very well fried, same for the Hush puppies and fries. Slaw and beans are very tasty. The sides included hush puppies, beans, slaw, and fries. It was delicious! Not to mention they have great tarter sauce and some other red pepper chutney or sauce.

Recent visit to the Awesome Catfish House, I ordered for carryout. One Lemon Pepper Catfish Dinner, with hush puppies, beans, coleslaw, Fried Okra, and an order of Fried Pickles. The dinner was split between two people. Plenty to eat, bring your appetite. It was delicious. The Catfish was light, flakey, and tender, well seasoned, (you do have a choice of Cajun, Lemon Pepper, Black Seasoned) the coleslaw was crunchy and creamy with a slight tangy taste, the Fried Okra is just enough crunchy lightly seasoned bater with tender inside, the same with the Fried Pickles, the Hush puppies Fried with a nice crunchy batter with a soft fluffy inside, white beans in a mild seasoned gravy. They serve you a nicely whipped tartar sauce, along with a very addictive sweet pepper relish chutney. Probably one of the worst experiences of eating out I have ever had. Me and my wife ordered the catfish strip dinners. Looked like maybe one catfish fillet was used to make up both dinners. Nothing but very hard crust with no fish inside and no flavor very bland. Then the fried corn on the cob (never heard of this in my life) was a very small corn cob dipped in fish batter and fried , was terrible again no flavor very bland don't waste your money. The only good things about the meal was the hushpuppies and the salad , that's it. Very , very expensive for what you get as well. 2 glasses of tea $8.00 , the fish dinners were almost $40 for 2 , and the fried corn was $7. I have never in all my years had such a terrible meal an it cost $60. We drove all the way from Bowling Green Kentucky to eat here ,a wasted trip. The little girl who waited on us was very sweet girl. She could tell we were not happy cause the plate still had alot of food left on them. Definitely will not be back. I believe this place stays open on boasting about being open 40 years so people think it is good. Well it definitely is not. Harper's Fish in Scottsville Kentucky is much , much better than this. My husband and I are new to the area, and love to try new things, so when someone told us this was the best place to go for catfish we where excited. When we first got there we where blown away on how beautiful and setin it looked. We thought this is going to be great,. Our server was prompt and friendly bringing fried okra with her, we where disappointed to find no alcohol on the menu, not even beer or wine, we settled for soft drinks that tasted stale. We both ordered a combo plate, my husband ordered catfish and clams, and I had catfish and crab cake, beans and coleslaw. I cannot tell you enough how disappointed we found our food to be, we could not tell the taste form one thing or another it was all fried, fried ,fried, could not even taste the meat of the fish, no flavors what so ever. The only sauce we could get was a tarter sauce that was very bland, or some kind of red sauce that was similar to a thi chilli sauce but no spice or flavor, we could not finish eating, we did not see our server again until she slapped down our bill and ran away.
