updating review because MK was really nice about it and did everything she could to make it right.

Ordered a vegan chicken salad sandwich and at first they forgot to make it and then they served me a real chicken sandwich, which I ate without realizing what it was. I've been vegan for a decade. I'm incredibly sad. When I called to find out what happened, the extraordinarily rude guy behind the counter could not have cared less even though I tipped him 15% on an already overpriced sandwich because he was staring at the stupid tip screen. I thought this place was cute and was planning to spend a lot of time here but will never, ever be back. I feel violated and more. To be fair, a different employee was very kind when I called a second time and offered me a refund and a new sandwich, but I honestly can't get across how upsetting this is. I feel like a Karen complaining to the manager or whatever but this is...

I hate this place so much. They are conveniently located next door to where I stay during my summers in Sewanee, so I go there from time to time out of pure desperation. It is always, always an awful experience. Every single time, there is a long line, and the cashier is chit chatting with someone at the front for what seems like a million years. They have no competition, so everything costs a million dollars. They always get something wrong about my order. There are always customers there who are extremely loud and pretentious and standing in the way of where other people need to go....

Favorite coffee shop in Sewanee. Employees are always helpful and cheerful (and they all have remarkably good taste in music!) The curry chicken salad on a croissant, dipped or drizzed with their balsamic dressing is a must have and eternal classic (but it's excellent in every way shape and form.) Fun drinks ranging from the Crazy Sewanee Night with many shots of espresso, to the Sleepy Hollow with milk and Sleepytime tea. Delicious homemade treats like monster cookies and scones, I could wax poetic about this...
