This is one of those places you don't expect to find. It is literally in the middle of nowhere, on the edge of Douglas Lake at the corner of Tennessee 139 and Deep Springs Road. The main building turns out to only be for takeout, but they have added a little shed off to the side as a dining room. The service was beyond friendly, the ambience was, well, what ambience? The muzak was Christian rock but not at offensive levels if you were likely to be offended by that. I ordered a 12-in pizza with white sauce, chicken, and black olives. My wife ordered bone-in wings. They had lots of sauces. They had tea, both Milo's and something they brewed themselves, but all their soft drinks were in cans. Their unsweet tea was very good. And then there's the food. I can't remember a better pizza and I eat a lot of pizza. The chicken was freshly cooked, not frozen or diced or anything like that. They have a thing called tater barrels, which apparently are like tater tots only like making a stuffed baked potato and making tater tots of that. I thought the price was a little high for that so I didn't try them, but I see on the reviews a lot of people love them. There was only enough parking because there weren't that many people and it was that part from any city or town that it shouldn't matter. The tableware, which was cheap plastic, was not up to cutting the pizza. This place would be better with stainless steel tableware. They could probably improve on the paper plates tube but that wasn't a major issue. I'm repeating myself by saying that the staff was friendly, but it was that friendly. My wife will talk about the wings on her review, I'm sure she'll have good things to say about them. For the ambience and tableware, the price was a little high, but for the food, oh gods the food, you will...

December 9th, 2023. Ordered pepperoni pizza and cheese bread to go. Absolutely fantastic. Another 5 star experience.

June 2023: We ordered takeout from Verardi's recently and the experience was 5 start from start to finish. The person taking the order by phone was friendly, courteous, informative and efficient.

The pickup process was simple, right at the walkup window. Service was fast, even though they were quite busy!

We ordered a pepperoni pizza and tater kegs (which are a bit like a cross between tater tots and potato skins). We spiced ours up at home with sour cream and chives, you'll see the photos.

While the pizza was absolute perfection, I have to give credit to the crust - it was really something pretty special. This crust, had an amazing taste and texture, nearly melts in your mouth. It would also make for an amazing stuffed crust experience, if they offered that (hint hint)! The cheese, pepperoni, and sauce were all equally amazing! In short - a perfect pie.

I had the opportunity to speak with the owner and he was kind enough to show me around a bit. You'll see photos of the new indoor seating they now offer. They still have picnic tables outside.

The views of Douglas Lake are amazing.

Be sure to try them out, and keep coming back - Verardi's is really food...

Honestly I was so disappointed with our pizzas this past time we went. We spent $77 for 2 pizzas and 2 orders of tater kegs. The tater kegs were amazing as always but the pizzas were very disappointing for the price we paid for them. We use to love going there because the toppings they added actually made it worth the price but not this past time. There were barely any toppings on it. After driving as far as we did (because we don't live locally anymore) and spending what we did (I could have gotten double the pizzas locally and been equally disappointed) I wanted to cry. I'm not sure what happened during the period they were closed for that extensive amount of time but something changed. I use to recommend this place to everyone but I won't be anymore. Would definitely get the tater kegs again if we are that way but not a place I will go that far out of my way for again. They really use to have the best pizza but not anymore 😞 It didn't even taste the same either. Like I said, I don't know what happened during that time period but I hate that they lost our business because we used to LOVE their pizza and definitely...

Prompt and friendly service. There are 2 buildings, one for carry out and next building is the restaurant. Their toilet was outside the restaurant to your right with a laundry room in it. I ordered chicken wings (bone in) with 3 different sauces (Honey BBQ, Sriracha Bourbon, and Teriyaki) with Ranch dipping for carrots and celery. The Honey BBQ tasted more BBQ than honey but it was good. I didn't much like the teriyaki because it tasted too much soy sauce. The Sriracha Bourbon was good but spicy. Next time I'll try the Sweet Chili. My husband had a chicken and black olives pizza and it was good. The utensils were plastic and they had paper plates instead. There was too much food so we brought the rest home. But the food and service was great. We will be coming back.
