Butta's Better BBQ — Restaurant in Terre Haute

After one bad bbq place in Terre Haute,.we thought we'd give Butta's a chance, especially since they're rated so highly.

Disappointed. We ordered two porkalicious wraps, and figured we'd try three of the little sides: green beans, corn pudding, and Mac and cheese.

The tortillas the wraps came with were stale. On top of that, there wasn't more than 2-3 ounces of pulled pork, and maybe a tablespoon worth of Mac and cheese on it. For almost $13 each, it was a major ripoff.

The sides were a disappointment, but that could be subjective. They were all served barely lukewarm. The green beans had minimal seasoning. The Mac and cheese certainly tasted home made, which was nice, but it wasn't creamy at all and seemed like it was leftovers. Actually, all three sides tasted reheated. The corn pudding is where it gets weird. The amount of sugar added to this dish was very odd. It tasted like I was eating hot cornflakes that had a ton of sugar mixed in...like a hot cereal. If that's what people like...cool.....but man, it just wasn't super appealing to us.

Two wraps, three little sides, and two cans of pop was over $40. No thanks. I'd love to support a local business, but that just makes it...

Butta's special pulled pork wrap (The Porkalicious Wrap) is unlike anything else out there. The combination of good quality meat, a nice tangy barbecue sauce, and homemade macaroni and cheese... honestly you can't go wrong with this one. At first I was hesitant to have macaroni and cheese on a sandwich, but man is this combination work! Always made fresh and only three to four minutes wait, having this for dinner is always a delight.

The only bad thing about this fine establishment is that they are only open limited hours 3 days of the week. But when I'm anywhere near this place at a time that they are open, I make sure to stop in and get me one of these delicious wraps.

UPDATE - December 2024: Same wrap, same amazing flavor. I can't recommend this place enough. Their $3 small side may seem small, but it managed to do two people pretty well. One of us got the macaroni & cheese on the side, so that worked out well. Plenty enough food for two people, comes in around $30. So not the cheapest place in TH, but definitely one of the best - if not the best - hole in the wall restaurants I've ever been to, let alone in TH. Kudos to a...

This is the BEST BBQ that I have EVER had!! I am originally from Indiana but currently live in Texas. I would travel just to come get some of this delicious food that's how good it is ..best believe whenever I'm in town there's no question about what my family and I are going to eat when passing through ! EVERYTHING is great and NOTHING will disappoint so you have to try everything at least once. It's finger lickin' good 🤤 I really enjoy everything that they have to offer. Hopefully someday they'll be able to come to Texas and show these cowboys what real, flavorful and juicy... Delicious BBQ tastes like. They offer unique dishes that are guaranteed to have your taste buds dancin'!
