We ordered pickup after a long day. Fantastic pizza and I can see why they get great reviews.
First, it is really off the main road and easy to miss. But when we got there, the place was packed. Very small interior, but they serve great beer and it seems like they have a dedicated clientele. I can see why.
I am from out of town, but this was a great pizza by any standards. We ordered a standard pepperoni, mushroom and onion pizza and the bacon ranch pizza. The bacon ranch was way better than I expected. Both were cooked just right and the bacon ranch, which I thought would be overwhelming with ranch was just right. Not overkill on the ranch or bacon, just right. I am normally a "standard pizza" person, but that one won me over.
We arrived early for pickup and had a beer. The selection, while not extensive, was very good. Had a Bell's Hopslam while we waited which was perfectly cool.
For such a small location and for being kinda hidden, it has a great following and I can see why that is the case.
When back in town, we will be sure to order again.
Staff was very helpful and attentive. The place was full, with very friendly people. I can see why this place is a favorite hangout by locals.
Not being a local, I would love to see a place like this...
Read moreI hate to give a local business a bad review but this was one of the poorest dinging experiences I've ever had. We had to get up and walk to the bar for everything: drink refills, to get our check, to give our credit card to the waitress so we could pay. There was only one other table in the restaurant plus a few people at the bar. Our waitress although she we friendly was more attentive to the regulars at the bar rather than coming to our table. There was one other person working in the restaurant but she never came by our table to see if we needed anything either.
The pizza itself was pretty good but make sure you order it at least an hour before you think you're going to be hungry. We dined in and waited 45 minutes for one 16 inch pizza. The only time I've waited that long for a pizza is when ordering a deep dish at a packed restaurant in Chicago. In any scenario where food is going to take 45 minutes to arrive at your table you should be informed in advanced.
I've worked in restaurants and it should never take that long to make a pizza even when you're starting from scratch.
I might order a pizza form here again one day because I liked the pizza itself but what a hassle to wait so long. Not sure if...
Read moreGirl on phone said 5.00 special small pizza today. Charged me 9 bucks when I arrived and it was tiny. Like personal size. No receipt either. She gave a receipt only after I SENT IN MY KID AFTERWARDS. GIRL ON PHONE said the pizza I was getting was LARGER than the personal one. Should ask her. If it was over 8 bucks that doesn't reflect the 5.00 on the phone. lol Also girl on phone said toppings were a dollar a topping. I guess what she should have said was over 3 bucks a topping because all we had was black olives. Just ask her to be honest over the phone, ok? lol New yorker born and raised here and this was not similar to NY pizza as someone else mentioned. Judging from response not helpful owner either.
OH YEAH I forgot the onion topping! But it was so miniscule that I did not realize it was on there!!!
I cannot control what someone else does. My son ripped up the receipt because he did not like the experience we had. However, who cares? Why would you even mention that? We had to go back in to get a receipt that should always accompany an order. ridiculous! Your ongoing comments are...
