We always want to support small businesses, and we had not tried this place. I was sick so we ordered from their website for delivery. I was under the impression that they had drivers. After I placed the order (where I was asked to choose a tip amount for the driver before I get the food), I got a text that an Uber driver would be delivering my food. When I intentionally placed the order, I was told the food would be delivered by 6:12pm, 45 min after I ordered. When it was 6:12, it said the driver still hadn't picked it up. So I called the restaurant and was told that my food was done and had been sitting there for a bit. I was told that even though the driver wasn't there, it was "in a hot box" being kept warm. I asked what would happen if the driver took a really long time to come get it, and I was told that there wasn't anything they could do. (This is why I don't use Uber eats and delivery services like that because I always end up having my food sitting and getting cold. I would not have ordered delivery if I knew this was how it would be delivered. ) The food did not get delivered til after 6:45 and was cold. The cheesesticks tasted awful when we tried to warm them up, and the cinnamon pizza dessert was even worse. We took 2 bites and threw it away. The dessert tasted like they forgot to put the sugar on and only tasted cinnamon. I called at almost 6:30 when the food still hadn't been picked up from the restaurant and got their machine. I left a message. It has been over 24 hrs, and I still haven't heard back. I spent $70+ on a meal that we barely ate. We won't be ordering...
Read moreTried the Baked Penne with marinara sauce tonight and it was one of the best things I’ve eaten in the Austin area. The marinara tastes fresh, it was nice and chunky but cooked down well, sodium level was spot on without any sweetness to it, great garlic level - delicious without being overpowering. The pasta was cooked perfectly. Good mouth feel, not mealy, not too hard or soft, held up well to the fork and wasn’t overbaked. Perfect amount of mozzarella - they weren’t stingy with it and it was complimentary to the amount of pasta and sauce. The best thing about it is the large dollops of ricotta on top - it offers a beautiful creaminess against the acidity of the tomatoes that balances really well, and it was a pleasant surprise. I think there are a lot of Italian places around here that wouldn’t think of adding this to a dish, either because of the bottom line or just a lack of desire to update a classic. For the amount of pasta you get and the quality and flavor you get, I would pay twice as much as the current menu price at $6.99 - amazing value. Definitely putting this place...
Read moreWe ordered three 16" pizza's on 10/19/24 and ordering and service were good like most times.
We got a cheese, pepperoni, and vegetable pie which was $15-20 each. We had a few friends over and all agree the day you get them they are good and tasty but seem to be shorting on toppings. Might be a cost move on their part as we understand ingredients have gone up.
But the next day, 10/20/24 the leftover slices are just pieces of cardboard and flat tasting. Even after reheating it does not help. My guess and others agree is the cheese and crust they use are just not up to the 2nd day taste test. That is the true test of a great pizza parlor. When we visit Tomball there is a great shop that even on the 3rd day their leftover pie slices are still very good.
We will go back about every 3 months or so as there is just not much choice of places in Liberty Hill area with good pies. But Angela Ronzoni's is not in the category of one I would visit every few week or once a month.
But it is better than the chain pizza...
