A much needed respite from the seemingly endless onslaught of “cut and paste” fast food chains, built like golden shrines to their out of town owners. The Baja Cafe isn’t simply a port in a storm. They serve savory fairly priced delicious food, ice cold drink, and fresh samplings from the gulf. Shorts and a T-shirt are preferred attire but only when accompanied with a laid back attitude and a empty belly. Salty dogs or day trip city dwellers, all are welcome here. Eat here without regret my friends.

You can't beat taco Tuesday, it's a great reason to stop in and grab a bite. It's always a busy day since they are closed on Mondays. They have a great atmosphere built up of friendly regulars and a helpful staff. The prices are reasonable and the portions are generous. The beers are cold and the food was on point. You're missing out if you drive by and never stop in.

I ate my food so fast I couldn't take a picture of it. The salsa is absolutely delicious homemade to. Has a bit of a spice to it just like how it should be.

Soooooo I originally gave this place 5 star review, but now after new ownership i dont believe I will go back. You now have to pay for chips and salsa. The chips are like the $2 bag chips from HEB. We ordered the chips and sausage queso. The queso came out with a think skin on it, had to stir it and there was no sausage. Queso nothing even close like before, it tasted like the ballpark cheese in a can mixed with a little velveeta and some rotel. After a bite we couldn't eat it. Then our margaritas showed up, those were overly sour and tart. I drank mine and my wives and dont even think there was much tequila in it. Usually with two margaritas I'm good, with these nothing. So we didnt order anything else afraid of the results. I hope that the locals are giving the new owners honest opinions on the food. Because if anyone says it is better than before, they are lying. The menu itself is not impressive any more. This is the lowest rating I have ever given a restaurant. So sad this place is what it is now, used to be a great damn place....

OLD REVIEW Awesome local place, staff is great and the food rocks. And the drinks........

This is going to be a long one. We got there and they immediately brought chips and salsa, and got us our drinks shortly after. It took 20+ minutes to get our order in, which the waitress did not even come to our table. We had to go to the bar and put in our order, for food and more drinks. It was another 20+ minutes to get our food. I ordered shrimp, beef and chicken fajitas. When it arrived I did not even have shrimp in my fajitas. Not to mention, when we got there it wasn't very busy, tables that got there after us got their food first, other tables our waitress went to multiple times and didn't even check on us. Had to go neck up to the bar to tell them they didn't put shrimp in my fajitas, then they messed up AGAIN and made something else. Ended up telling them it was fine and asked for the tab. Service was extremely poor. Food had zero flavor. Overall extremely disappointing experience. There is not many places I won't give a second try. But I will never be back. Overall a...

Where do I start with this colossal failure of "Tex-mex" restaurant? Everything seems to be under seasoned. I order the chicken enchiladas, it was basically underseason chicken wrapped in a corn tortilla, topped with melted cheese. Not even the cheese could make the chicken and tortilla stay together without falling out and getting unwrapped. Charro beans were so blend, we order a margarita and it was the worse margarita ever (and I had the taco cabana margarita before) My friend had the chicken tacos and omg they were horrible, Taco Bell had better tacos. And the chips and salsa... can't even find a word to describe how bad...
