The staff was fantastic. The food was great. The facility was very aesthetically pleasing. The bathrooms were clean and very nice. (The hand soap smelled amazing. Which I'll admit might be irrelevant to most. But I feel like it says something about the management to consider the small things).
End of review.
What follows is a commentary on the abuse due to ignorance of the 0-5 star rating system.
I truly don't understand the 3.9 rating for this business unless: Let me be direct on this.
If you're the kind of person that gives a maximum 4 star rating on most (49%+) reviews then:
You need to understand how the 0-5 star system works.
In this respect you're a user, a lay person. Not a professor rating a doctoral thesis. Not a professional inspector.
Less than 5 stars means that something of note was wrong. And as such, by definition, you're obligated to specify what exactly it was that was so wrong that your overall experience was only four fifths of what you were expecting. Or 20% below typical and\or advertised expectations.
For example: If you pay for a "12 pack" of Coke and then find out that 11 out of the 12 are perfect. But the 12th one is empty. Then that's a 4.583 'star' pack of Cokes. And mathematically: =4.4999 stars = a 5 star rating. So in this case a rating of less than 5 stars for only getting 11 out of the 12 Cokes you paid for is either dishonest or wildly/dangerously ignorant..
To further clarify the basic logic: To qualify for a 4 star review you would've had to have received less than 9 full and more than 3 empty Cokes... Imagine that for a minute...
Consider a worst case scenario: Put yourself in the shoes of a person that opened a business due to a life long dream.
And then imagine that they provide, perfectly, the service or thing they promised. But then they only get an 80% review (4 of 5 stars) aka they... 'Answered every question on the test exactly right. But they still only get a score of 80/100'...
Honestly, would you have graduated grade school were that the case?
At this point it's necessary for me to apologize for such an extreme post. It's impolite. And honestly almost exclusively out of frustration from inaccurate and misleading reviews. That make it difficult to choose a business to visit. If there is anything in my post that you feel is incorrect I would very much like to know. To that end I promise honest respect and intellectual consideration to any respectful and/or honest questions/comments. But let's get real no one is going to...
Read moreWe tried this restaurant for the first time tonight. I had much higher expectations from the curb appeal and became very disappointed quickly.
We had 4 adults, 2 toddlers, and 1 baby. They sat us at a 4-top table and we were crammed. They didn’t want to seem to pull tables together or try to put us at a larger table.
When the server came, she asked us each to repeat ourselves because the music was a bit loud. We ordered the chimi fries and the kids meals, but we were highly disappointed. Several of the fries were still partially frozen and the plate itself was just soggy fries that seemed to have been sitting awhile. Meanwhile the kids meals that came out with the fries were piping hot.
I will say the reason I gave 2 stars versus 1 is the fact that the Rincon Burger, chicken sandwich, kids burger and kids chicken tenders were tasty. The carnitas sandwich was very disappointing and not much outside the bread and the avocado. Rice with chicken is more like Spanish rice with chicken pieces versus a chicken breast with rice and fixings.
The service is probably the worst experience I’ve had. We asked for checks 3 times and explained how tickets were split. The checks came messed up and waited about another 15 minutes for corrected checks which were still wrong but we decided to pay how it was because by this point the kids were getting restless and we just wanted out of there.
It’s not much of a family atmosphere but more of a place to bring friends for drinks and listen to the live music or...
Read moreI was going to go to the restaurant with my family and friends to watch Colombia play against Quatar. When I reserved the table, they said thank you and that they'll see me the day of the game. Come game day and we sit down to start watching the game and order some empanadas to get started. When the waiter noticed no one had ordered food she told us that the rules to reserving a table is that we have to spend a minimum of $120 dollars. Which means either we spend $120 on food or pay the difference. Either way, we had to spend $120 dollars. They didnt tell me anything when I reserved the table? When we realized this, we wanted to go home and watch the game without loud music playing and just relax between friends and family. When we told the waiter, she became very rude and walked off. She came back after 15 minutes, and told us that she could sit another couple at the table so that it would be less expensive for us. We right away declined and asked for the check. After 10 more minutes of waiting, we got the check. For 5 empanadas, which were small, greasy, and didnt have the taste of what an empanada should have, the bill was $18.75, almost 4 dollars per empanada. It was unbelievable. This is a new restaurant that I had high hopes for but unfortunately I will not be coming back and I advise others to avoid eating here unless you want expensive food...
