In Houston we just had a hurricane yesterday so food is a little scarce so I dropped off someone nearby.
I decided to stop in this establishment because I was referred to this place by a mutual friend.
when I got in, they had a large menu so I really didn’t know what I wanted so it took me a little while.
After looking over the menu, I finally decided to get a combo.
It came with grill fish and your choice of two sides. I went with onion rings and green beans.
Well the green beans tasted as if they just opened a can of green beans and put them on my plate so I wasn’t happy with the taste of the green beans.
I asked them if I could get something else and the lady at the register was like no the green beans are good and she was kind of giving me a little bit resistance about giving me a different item on the menu.
She wanted to charge me and I told her no.
I didn’t wanna pay for anything else.
I just wanted to get something in place of the green beans.
She was giving me a little attitude because I didn’t want the green beans so I just told her to give me my money back.
Today I am very hungry due to the storm we just had.
I didn’t have a good experience at this place at all. I am quite disappointed to say the least.
Will I come here again...
Read moreI come here for the Chicago dogs and beer. The ones they make are about average ( minus the poppy seed buns like the ones up in Chicago ), but I like them. I have tried the Maxwell also and I like them, but I like polish dogs and sauerkraut. I m not sure if the Maxwell would be appetizing to the average taste though, but if you are feeling like something new or different, go for it. The ambiance is nonexistent as this is a neighborhood dive bar and a perfect fit for the likes of me when I am in the mood for a dog and a beer. The service is average but the wait times are dependant on how many people are there. I have never had to wait in line, but they make your dogs to order and it takes approximately 10 minutes or so. You can eat right by where the kitchen is it walk into the bar and eat if you want a beer. Like most bars they have TV's on and some pretty unique decorations on the wall such as old hockey sticks. There are a few spots in Houston to get a Chicago dog but this one is convenient for me and serves...
Read moreMultiple ways to have a dog, piles of krout and a bar make this place unique. The only real turn off for me is they allow smoking inside where we are eating and the restrooms were super small. I think its rude to smoke around others when they eat. The food was good and hot. It didn't take along time to come out and they serve breakfast as well. I had a potato burrito and a sausage egg and cheese biscuit. The egg looked like that funky egg loaf but over all it had good flavor. My dinner trip the cashier was a young girl on her phone and when we asked about different things she just pointed to descriptions on the wall or called someone else. Maybe she was new, maybe management feels like an employee who is not knowledgeable is the first thing a new customer should be greeted with but i didnt like it. She wasnt rude just put off by the finger pointing. The guy in the morning was on point. Fast friendly service is what i got when i ordered ahead. WILL GO AGAIN, WILL...
