Koozies Icehouse & Grill — Restaurant in Texas

We we're pleasantly impressed! Spent the day floating the Guadalupe River and just needed a close, quick stop with some decent food. By we, it my husband and I and our 2 young boys. There was band Saturday night, easy to get to right off main River Road, and good amount of parking.

We ordered Fried Pickles which we're definitely fresh and really good not ur typical battered pickles. Then me and my son shared thing crust pepperoni pizza (12" is good for 2 people). It was really good, hit the spot, super cheesy!!! My husband ordered boneless Buffalo wings. The sauce was awesome, the texture and heat were on point. Good quality chicken and battered.

Cool atmosphere, lots of spread out seating plus a typical bar area.

Margarita was ok. Not bad, but needs more authentic fresh taste - but typical for a grill-bar. And they start cover charge of $10/person for band early at 7pm. I'm not sure what it's like before 7 PM but when we went it was a little inconvenient because we had to order food at the station that wasn't really labeled very well and then go to the bar to get the kids a Drink. I despise writing reviews but felt the need to do so after our group visited Koozies tonight. Our group ordered multiple kinds of fountain drinks, water and liquor from the bar which was absolutely disgusting and undrinkable. Our drinks from the fountain had a terrible “fish” smell and taste which each of us noticed after we took the first sip. Automatically an indicator that something hasn’t been cleaned or Marvin Zindler type slime in the ice machine!? Even our vodka Red Bull had this terrible smell and taste coming from the ice which left it undrinkable. We threw our drinks away and let the bar tender know that it smelt and tasted terrible. The bar tender poured a cup of water to smell and even agreed that it smelt bad. Something needs to be immediately checked out and thoroughly cleaned before people start getting sick…. Koozies had a great atmosphere. It was a bit slower for a Saturday night and there was a 10.00 cover charge. I would have to say that they did have a live band who was very good. They played popular songs and they sounded great. After the band finished they had karaoke with the Dj. That was fun and entertaining. So all in all the show and entertainment part of the night went well. Moving on to the bar, staff was polite and tended to the customers very well. Drinks were good. I would have liked to see an over the top drink or something to give a bit of excitement to the bar but they did a good job. I did want to order food and didn't ,I have heard the food is really good. There's always next time. So Koozies is comfortable and casual, I would recommend it.
