La Gordibuena Doniphan — Restaurant in Texas

I had an extremely alarming experience at this restaurant. While eating a gordita, I discovered a thumb tack inside the food, which cut my palate. This is absolutely inexcusable and dangerous. Food safety should be the top priority of any establishment, and finding a sharp object in my meal is beyond unacceptable. When I called to speak with the manager, her response made the situation even worse. She seemed unapologetic and said she didn’t know how the thumb tack ended up in my food since “everything is packaged.” To make matters worse, she was eating while talking to me on the phone, showing a complete lack of professionalism and concern for the seriousness of the situation. This is some of the poorest customer service I’ve ever encountered. This level of negligence could have caused serious harm. I strongly urge the restaurant to take immediate action to review their safety protocols and retrain their staff to handle situations like this appropriately. I wanted this place to be very good. Unfortunately, all I can say is it is mediocre at best. The 3 times I’ve been here to ask for aguas frescas they never have them. The first time I came here I was sick to my stomach that afternoon. I decided to give them a second chance today and I was very disappointed. The rajas gordita was flavorless. The recipe could definitely use some improvement. Also, the tortilla on all of my gorditas was extremely chewy and undercooked. Not to mention they did not have any cold 2 litter coke to go with the family pack I ordered.
