Best Food in the State of Texas and First class girls! Katie and Marie took care of our order and made sure we felt like we were Texas Famous! My mom and I stopped by here on our way back to the Abilene Area after a day of Dr. Appts in the Metroplex. I would give this place 10 stars on Google,if I could! We enjoyed dinner of the absolute freshest food, fantasticially flavorful and cooked to perfection bites and great potions for price! We relished in flaky catfish, seasoned red beans, tender buttery red potatoes, fresh salads, crispy corn sticks, and some "out of this world" pickled green tomatillos. We will be regulars of Maverick Grill and will drive hours for the quality of food and service that makes you proud...

Maverick Grill has been a go-to spot for me for several years, especially for their fried catfish basket, which is consistently delicious. The fish is always fresh and perfectly cooked, just the way I like it.

I’ll admit, I was a little concerned when I heard they were under new ownership and management last month. Change can be hit or miss, but after several recent visits, I’m happy to say my worries were completely misplaced. If anything, Maverick Grill has only improved! The food and service remain top-notch, and it’s still the great place I’ve always counted on.

Just stopped for a bite on my way through Texas. I ordered the "Maverick Fries." My expectations were not very high considering the next counter over was a Taco Casa. The standard frozen shoestring fries were nothing special but good. That's the bad part because the flavors accompanying them were spot on!! The mixture of cheese queso, BBQ sauce, jalapeños, and beef brisket... WOW!!! I was seriously surprised!! Damn good job!! I took the time to thank the staff and express how proud they should be for putting that much flavor in a paper boat!! This place will be on "my must stop" map the next time I pass through!!
