POLLO CALIENTE — Restaurant in Texas

This place is not great, the chicken is over cooked. The rice has little to no seasons, beans are bland. Ordered the chicken bowl, and the chicken tasted as though it was sitting there for a while. Too much cheese on the bowl, it seems like they are trying to drown out the other flavors. My husband got a burger- their special Mushroom Swiss Burger- it taste like something you could get from a lunchroom/ cafeteria. Fries were undercooked, the onion rings were alright. Overall, it was a horrible dinning experience. The staff was very friendly, however they don’t know what they have on the signs in front of them and have to double check them. The checkout was interesting, you have someone give you a “ticket” you then pay at the front, bring back your “ticket” to pick up. Why can’t the checkout process all be in one place. Overall a great place for food when you are in a hurry or on the go. I've had the breakfast tacos (picadillo and beef fajita). Also, the hamburger meal and onion rings. The food is really good and reasonably priced. The tacos were pretty small but good. The tortillas are very thin but also really good. They also have a really good mango drink with lots of pulp right next to the register it's super good. They did get a couple minor things mixed up on 2 of the orders but nothing horrible.

I hate to leave such a bad review, but I did not have time to turn back around and go back. I’ve looked online for a phone number and cannot find one. I ordered a hamburger meal for lunch today. I got back to work and took a bite. The meat was spoiled. It smelled so bad. I thought it was just me at first. I tore a piece off and smelled it.
