Pop's Place — Restaurant in Texas

The food is fantastic, but the female manager is a complete disaster. She sat at the table by the kitchen door drinking, barking orders, and acting like she owned the place. I’ve been here many times — the food keeps bringing me back — but every time, management is the weak link.

This visit, I came to pick up a call-in order. I stood near the bar and was immediately told to move. When I sat in a chair offered by someone leaving, the same manager snapped at me again. Her attitude is rude, aggressive, and completely out of line. She clearly hates her job — or worse, might be tied to ownership, which would explain the lack of accountability.

The food deserves better leadership. Her behavior left a sour taste that great food can’t cover. There also seems to be a racial undertone to how she treats people. Sad and...

As my husband and I walked in I could tell we weren't welcomed Everyone else walking in after us was greeted with a "Welcome come and sit anywhere you want" My server was rude I had already told my drink taker that I had my own drink and even though I was almost done She scolded me and said we don't allow outside foods or drinks This was the first and only time she approached our table The food was mediocre The shrimp had no flavor and its served with "hushpuppies" and fries we only got one small hushpuppy the size of a dime I was charged a fee for paying with a card But no one mentioned and there wasn't any signs that there was a "service fee" I'm sure these people are racist I recommend not eating here if you're Hispanic This little honky tonk isn't very hospitable to us My husband thought...

Off the beaten path, Hole-in-the-Wall Restaurant/ Neighborhood Bar and Toby Keith's inspiration for "I Love This Bar" all good descriptions. The later because you will see all kinds in there, and of course many locals and fishermen. Good prices. It is beer and wine only and not a late night bar. As much a eating establishment as a drinking one. Daily specials: W-CFS, Th-HB Steak, F-Rib-eye. Daily (in season) Oyster specials, the oyster po-boy I can speak for, it was good. Known for the burgers but pretty much everything is good. Only item I probably wouldn't order again is the rib-eye. It wasn't bad, just a little pricey for what it is.
