Smiling Donuts — Restaurant in Texas

Between the two donut shops in Lago, Smiling is better quality, and superior customer service. They absolutely won my heart during snowpocalypse when they stayed open much later than advertised to serve the community when many didn't have power or running water. I swear after no power for 3 days that hot kolache was like heaven. For a new business to adjust so quickly and maintain quality during hard times is truly what sets Smiling apart from the rest.

Donuts are excellent and really remind me of dunkin. They have multiple frosting flavors from unique lemon and orange to normal chocolate and strawberry. They also have a good maple bacon donut. The breakfast sandwiches are big and not overly greasy(you can eat them in car without fear of mess), and the kolaches are on point. The Smiling Kovach is absolutely massive and honestly overwhelming, but its also great.

Smiling Donut is the only place in town to get bubble tea and thankfully it is made correctly, tapioca fresh and they have an insane amount of flavors. I'm talking like more than I've seen in larger cities. Slush also excellent.

Fast friendly and a great add to the local community. Never had a bad experience and I'm here at least once a week...

Super busy on the weekends, people were constantly in an out. They have really good kolaches, and I love the varied sizes for our daughter. I'm not a huge donut fan, but they have good donuts too, it's pillowy and soft.

The people are so nice and efficient! A lot of the time we go they always add in a special snack. I'm so glad we have boba here in Lago! I wish they were open longer in the day for my boba cravings, but serving only breakfast I understand why they don't.

The prices are fair, but it does add up quickly, you can easily spend 30-50 here, but I'd say its roughly 5-10 per person.

My experience has mostly been reflected by other reviews, which is to say, mostly positive. however, I arrived at 1:15 PM (during posted business hours) and the store was closed with no posted reasoning for doing so. I can totally excuse being closed for a good reason, but there was no sign on the door, no post on their facebook, no holiday, nada.
