⭐️⭐️⭐️ Honest Review – Some Hits, But Still Misses the Mark
I’ve visited Sotos two, maybe three times for lunch, hoping each visit would be better than the last. Unfortunately, I’ve left a bit disappointed every time. This isn’t a review I enjoy writing, because I truly want to support local restaurants—but I also believe in giving honest feedback.
The main issue for me has been the quality and consistency of the food. The flavor is underwhelming, and I noticed a pattern: the plates come out hot, but the food itself is cold. That’s a big letdown, especially when you’re expecting a fresh, warm meal. On top of that, the tea was watered down to the point that it felt more like flavored water than anything refreshing or satisfying.
That said, my most recent visit did have a highlight—my waiter was kind, attentive, and did a great job keeping up with our needs. I really appreciated his professionalism and hope the rest of the staff is just as welcoming.
I hate giving a low score, but I also want to be honest for both the restaurant and future customers. Sotos has potential, but there’s definitely room for improvement when it comes to the overall dining experience—especially in food temperature and flavor.
I’ll keep an eye out for changes, and I’d be open to trying it again down the road if I hear things have improved....
Read moreMy friend and I went to lunch today and he picked Soto’s because he’d been there before and had a buy one get one free coupon.
I really liked the decor and outdoor space. We both ordered the Soto Burrito which was $11. I was surprised by the portion size (small) for a Mexican restaurant but that was ok. The chili sauce was salty but that was ok as well.
The issue came when I received the bill. I gave the waitress my credit card and the buy one get one free coupon. The bill should have been $12 but it was $14.56. They only took off $9. Now they do have a $9 off coupon but that was not what was presented.
We spoke to the manager and she said it was her fault entering the wrong code and we would get a free burrito on our next visit. I felt like she should have given me the difference in cash so that it could go towards the tip.
I didn’t love the food so have no intentions of going back. But what if I went back two months from now? Would she remember?
Overall the chips were great. I like that there weren’t any salt on them. I was not impressed with the food and saw another review where they add a few for paying with a debit or...
Read moreTo be fair the place looks beautiful and I’m sure the alcoholic beverage are great. I looked forward to trying a new restaurant. My waitress was polite at first but pretty much never refilled non-alcoholic drinks and I watched her avoid our table for 20 minutes while I waited for our check. Tried to leave bigger tip but she couldn’t make change. She got upset and never came back with my to go plate. I had to ask the bartender and they took my food to the back to plate (which is accustomed and fine dining restaurants) but the vibe was not it and I did not want her to touch my food any longer. Once I was home I felt sick and I threw up all the pozole verde I ate. Would never visit this restaurant or recommend. Not because atmosphere or drinks but just of how shitty the waitress attitude and serve. And I saw her basically hug all the other customers (not sure if they are regulars). But the place was not packed for us to be ignored in such manner. Or maybe it just caters to a certain crowd idk. I will never dine at this...
