We have been here several times. The food is always great!

Today we went for breakfast after early morning dental appointments. My husband had a very large burrito with scrambled eggs, sausage, and potatoes inside, with crispy potatoes on the side. I had a pulled pork sandwich with "Momma's pinto beans" on the side. My sandwich was big enough to bring home half of it! The beans were spicy and good! I saw their bottled sodas from Dublin and had the vanilla flavor. It reminded me of our tour of the Dublin Bottling Company! Sweet and refreshing!

For lunch at another time, I had the brisket sandwich with a side of beans. It was more than generous; enough to take home for later. The beans were slightly spicy with chunks of ham. My husband had a hamburger and fries. Again, the hamburger was very generous, but he managed to eat it all and saved some fries to take home with my sandwich. Another time when our grandchildren were with us the kids' macaroni and cheese was a hit with them, and enough to take home for later.

Once for dessert we had the Texas Two-Step. It was different than what we expected from the description. It was a bowl of maple flavored ice cream with large nuts! Yum! On the side was a generous serving of coated pecans, oatmeal, and other crumbles! Double yum!! It was delightfully delicious!

At breakfast another time, while sitting in the outside seating, I had the biscuits and gravy. The biscuits were large and light; the gravy flavored with generous sausage bites! My husband had the huge breakfast burrito and was fully satisfied.

Service is always prompt, friendly, and attentive! Even in a group our glasses were filled before we knew they were empty. Our food came promptly and well presented!

The restaurant has both inside and patio seating. The large "patio" has a very high ceiling with open sides that have portable sides that can be lowered in cold weather. We were there on a peaceful morning and enjoyed the view of farm properties nearby. Large ceiling and area fans helped keep the heat tolerable.

Next to the patio is a kids' playground! The grandkids loved it! It's a great place to burn energy while waiting for food or after eating. It's a great accommodation for kids and parents!

The restroom is minimally handicapped accessible. The handicapped stall is not large enough to accommodate a wheelchair, consequently privacy is sacrificed. The door may be closed only if a companion is there to open it, otherwise, it would leave the person in the wheelchair trapped. This is another example of the architect and builders not knowing how to make facilities wheelchair accessible! Reasonable accommodations identified in the Americans with Disabilities Act of 1990 includes privacy in the restrooms.

Handicapped accessible parking is a concrete pad large enough for two or three vehicles in a gravel parking area. The sidewalk to the entrance is narrow and wide enough for a typical wheelchair; the wheel base of a motorized wheelchair may be too wide for this sidewalk. Oddly, the sidewalk in front of the parking area is wider than the sidewalk entry to the building. Another example of the architect and builders unfamiliar with reality of accessibility.

Overall, this is an excellent restaurant! The food is great, service is great, and the dining areas give a choice of inside or patio. The playground is a bonus! Unfortunately the handicapped accessible restroom is a challenge, but not sufficient to keep us from returning. We are returning satisfied customers!

Starting off we showed up at 6:15pm it was not crowded but their staff seemed busy.

We sat down and that's when the waiting started. We stat for 25 minutes before a manager came and asked us and we hadn't been talked to there are drinks had been ordered. At which this time we had not talked to anybody. I had time to take all the pictures that you're seeing here before anybody made conversation.

Since time had passed we knew what we wanted and went ahead and ordered our drinks and our food and proceeded to wait again.

We waited probably another 15 minutes before food showed up and definitely that was lackluster.

The Chicken and waffles came out with two different cooked chicken tenders. One extremely dark. The other one light gold. You could tell that one chicken tender had been sitting in the overhead cooking lamp and the other one was cooked fresh. The waffle was pretty thin and small in comparison to other chicken and waffle places. Overall, the chicken consistency made the plate very unpalatable.

My wife got the chicken fried steak and let me tell you it was pretty much battered fried very little steak. Hollow shell encased around small steak is definitely how I would describe it?

At this point our drinks were completely empty and still not talked to any service person outside of the managers order taking.

I went ahead and stood up and retrieved the manager and asked for a final ticket.

Our waitress who would have been our waitress if she had shown up decided to show up and so when I asked the manager who'd receive any gratuity they stated it would be the waitress I went ahead and just left $5. Since the manager did all the work I didn't want to not leave anything but gratuity is for good service where this was no service at all and if I had a different attitude towards the service industry I definitely would have left tip at all. It was very inexcusable and the excuse that was provided was that all the "A" squad employees were at the football game and the "C" squad was taking over for the evening.

As we were leaving it was only getting busier and busier. So I feel for any other customers that were there that evening because there was a lot of distress at all the tables.

Though with a backdrops of the baseball fields and the sunset. I did like the scene and atmosphere of the area so if it had better staffing any accommodations for the guest I could see it being...

I used to love the Goat. I hadn’t been in a while and decided to stop by and give it another try tonight. Loooooong wait at the hostess stand. Staff peaking out from the kitchen and not interested in seating us. One finally comes to us and seats us. Another long wait at the table. We watch other servers tending to tables, and no one stopping by or even looking at ours. Finally, the person that sat us, comes back by and asks what we want to drink. We order. While we’re waiting, we see other parties coming in and being ignored and having long waits at the hostess stand like we’d experienced. The restaurant was not busy at all. Monday night, after 7pm. Most tables in the patio area were dirty. We notice a party of 2 that was sat after us get tired of waiting, and they got up and left before getting any attention (I should have done the same). We were a party of 3. It took about 1-1/2 hrs from the time we got sat until we paid our tab. When we got our ticket, i was appalled. I can’t think of another place in town where a draft beer costs $12.50 each. It cost $84 for a chip/queso app, 3 entrees (catfish plate, clucker bucket, and a dinner salad), two waters and two beers. I’m not a jerk…while service didn’t earn it, I did leave a 15% tip. So, I dropped $97 for long waits, crappy service, and an over priced menu. I definitely don’t plan to return or support this business again. I used to really enjoy going here. It’s just gotten worse over time, and I’m not willing to spend money here any more. My daughter went last week and experienced the same poor service. She had to go find her server to pay her check because they were so inattentive. I felt bad that I’d recommend her try out their lunch menu and she ended up having a poor experience.

Highly do NOT...

Well,I have given this place as many chances as I'm willing to! The last 2 times we have come here, the service has been terrible and the food has been subpar at best! The last time we came,I got a salad that was the size of a dinner salad at most places and was extremely expensive!! The manager even agreed that it was over priced but said there's nothing he could do..the owners make the prices! Tonight was our last trip to this place!! Maybe 30% capacity, service was bad...we waited 10 minutes to even get a hello....but the last straw was when I got the bill. My wine(cheap pinot) was $12!! $12 for about 4 ounces of wine! This glass wasn't even half full! I asked the manager and he said "unfortunately, yes...the owner sets that prices"...he said he was sorry and knew it was ridiculous but couldn't do anything about it. I guess I know why they don't have it priced on the menu! Good luck Purple 🐐....we won't be back!

GREAT place to stretch your legs and relax during a long car ride!!! Our kids enjoyed the playground while my husband and I sat on the covered porch. We were greeted right away on an early Friday evening. We had the cheese sticks and “goat balls” to start. Then we had a pulled pork sandwich, quail tenders, and kid had a pancake and egg for our meals. Our waiter, Chad, was so nice and very attentive. They said they had about 30 beers on tap, which my husband ordered a couple. When we decided to move inside due to incoming weather, 2 different staff members helped us move our plates inside and held the door for us. We will for sure come here again!! Only reason it didn’t get 5 stars is that the food was just ok. The Mac and cheese was the biggest offender…completely bland and just tasted like milk.
