Lord, the BBQ is top notch, and their steaks always come out perfectly to order, but as a long-time customer it was sad and super obvious when the servings shrunk by as much as HALF their original size as with the BBQ baked potatoes. The prices didn't hurt so much when we were getting spoiled by potatoes so large that they barely fit in a dinner container. I wanted to surprise long-time fans of Tony's that have moved 3 hours away, and on my way out of town to visit them, I stopped by to get 2 BBQ baked potatoes. Hours later, we were looking down at two little Idahos we could have nuked ourselves, and so little BBQ that the dab of shredded cheese they sprinkle on top completely covered it. The steak I ordered came alone, small wrapped up in foil inside a full sized dinner container. My baked potato came inside a little burger box. It's not like it wouldn't fit in the other empty compartments next to my steak, or my little foil-wrapped steak would have fit neatly inside the burger container with my baked potato with room to spare, but it's like they were mad and wanted nothing to do with each other, and I didn't either. The growing prices and shrinking servings leave a bad...

I rarely give 5 stars for most places however I don't think this place fell short on anything. Sure the place was off the beaten path for me and it does look like it's been there a while but driving in I noticed at least 8 police cars parked and figured it was safe to eat there after dark AND the food was probably pretty good if officers were dining there! Yep, the BBQ was cooked/smoked perfectly and tender with a great flavor profile (with or without the sauce). The ribs were tender and fell right off the bone. Sides were great and plentiful as well. There's a price increase like everywhere else but pricing was still very competitive and the servings generous. I don't know if the gentleman that plated the que was the manager or pit Master but he was very welcoming, nice and helpful explaining the menu. If I lived closer, I can say without a doubt that I would eat there at least once or twice a week! They seem to do a LOT of take out business. In my opinion, compared to the over 250 BBQ teams at the HLSR / Rodeo Houston World Championship Cook off, these folks would be in the...

My visit was on Sunday around 17:00 on 05/02/2021. I picked after doing a Google search wanting to support a small business. Dusty gravel parking lot gives off a dual vibe - this could be good or this could be bad. The dust travels well into the restaurant. This is not a very clean establishment. I ordered the 2 meat plate - sliced brisket, spicy sausage, sauce on the side, mayo potato salad, baked beans, bread, Mexican coke and a slice of coconut cream pie. I paid $20.00 for this meal. The brisket was dry and lacked flavor. Tasted reheated from a couple days ago. The jalapeño sausage had nice flavor but was also on the dry side. The sides were okay. The bread was toasted on one side and soft on the other. The coconut cream pie was decent and generic. The Mexican coke was the best tasting, but make sure you have your own bottle opener. I observed workers wearing same gloves to serve, exchange money and to clean. When will people learn cross contamination? I would not recommend or come back to...

This is literally some of the best barbecue spots I've ever had. We were about to go to Papa's barbecue right here off of East Tex freeway, but when I saw the reviews, I said no thank you. Let me paint a picture for you.... The ribs just fall off the bone, the brisket is so soft and perfectly juicy. The sausage was thinly cut and so delicious.. I loved their potatoes with the cheese and chives, and their big baked beans, definite winners.... My mom said that their baked potato with the works was definitely a win, but make sure you ask for extra fixing just in case there's not enough... My daughter loves steak 😋 so she got the special which comes with a hamburger steak, a dinner roll, gravy, a baked potato, or fries, she got the baked potato, the steak is topped with grilled onions, and it was incredible. My mom also got the chopped beef sandwich which was incredible! This place gave mom and pop vibes and I will definitely be back.
