The Grill Steak and Seafood in the Dalles, Fabulous! 👌👌 On the way back from the coast last Saturday, we had anticipated eating at am establiment 30 min outside of Seaside but because of the "Hood to Coast" event, it was too busy with long wait times. So we continued on and decided we'd eat further out hoping traffic would be less. I had been wanting a good steak our whole trip but it never played out. We typed in steakhouse in the Dalles and this one was open before 4pm. Sooo HUNGRY, we arrived and it was a country club so we thought we were going to be turned away. (Not knowing they recently opened to the public until after our visit)
The waitress Charli was FABULOUS! Seated us and handed a brunch menu. I was bummed, steak wasn't being served until dinner service. While we were looking over the brunch menu, she came back out and said since we were the only diners there at that moment that the chef would go ahead and make us a steak 🤩💝 Let me tell you, this was the best restaurant steak that I have had ANYWHERE! 🥩👌 The zucchini was cooked to perfection as well.
After dinner, our second waitress, can't remember her name (Charli had to leave) told us about this peach dessert that wasn't on the menu. I gave it a try, Holy AMAZEBALLS 😋 It had Grand Marnier and a thick sweet homemade cream. 🍑
I can't say enough about the food and service we received that day. I cannot wait to visit this place again! Definitely worth the drive if you're looking for a special date night or occasion!! Also, the view driving up route 30 from the west side, wow! As well as the window view of the...

The appetizers we got to share were perfect. We got the bacon wrapped dates and crab crustini and both were amazing and well worth the price.
I got the halibut fish and chips for dinner. If I'm honest it wasn't worth the price. I upgraded to onion rings which were tasty but the fish and chips weren't the best - not the worse I've had but not the best. They were very bland and tiny fish nuggets (compared to other halibut fish and chips I've gotten before - also says on the menu "four large pieces" and they are anything but large). Had to use ketchup to help the flavor.
My coworker got fish and chips too and also said the fish wasn't the best or worth the price. Said they wouldn't order those again - I won't either.
All in all i know we all agreed to be back for at least apps. But none of us were too thrilled about the dinner options for the prices - wasn't worth it for the quality. Also all talked about trying the dinner options again, but probably won't...
Read moreI was really impressed with our dining experience at The Grill. The establishment is set apart from all the other local bars and restaurants, it’s located on the old highway nestled in the back of the county club near the golf course. Initially, I thought you may have to be a member to eat there but it’s open to the public. The atmosphere was comfortable and inviting, I really loved the fire place it provided a very nice ambiance. Our appetizer was tasty, our meal was exquisite and the local wine was a perfect touch for our pallet. It flowed really well with the menu options provided. Our waitress was friendly and attentive to our every need and the owners Austin & Tara are down to earth and very friendly. It’s always nice to see owners that are passionate about their business and committed to customer service and the overall experience. I would give them 10 stars if I could. Definitely stop in and see them if you’re in the area, you definitely won’t be...
