Kajun Kidd Burgers & Wings — Restaurant in Thibodaux

This is NOT a fast food restaurant, this is a gourmet burger joint. If you are looking for a run of the mill burger the place with the arches may be a better fit for you. As with any sit down restaurant there IS going to be some type of wait but oh my it's definitely worth it. You can tell that your food is made to order and not just sitting in a warmer waiting for you to order it.

I've tried the "Big Daddy Parker," "The Bon-Fiya," and the "Young Money" burgers. Each one is served on a Hawaiian Roll and each of them are uniquely delicious. I've also had both appetizers, the "Kajun Imperial Dumplings" and the spinach dip. In terms of sides I've had seasoned fries & tots, loaded fries & tots, garlic jalapeño ranch fries, crabcake shrimp fried rice, and the crawfish Mac & cheese. In terms of wings I've had the sweet heat Hennessey, the Caribbean pineapple jerk, Chipotle crown apple, lemon pepper (wet & dry), and hot honey drip! As for drinks, I've had their specialty lemonades which include the Keke Palmer, Down the Bayou, and Kajun Kreek.

"The Big Daddy Parker" is a chicken sandwich and it's not like that one that had people waiting in line for hours! It's much better. There's a habanero peach sauce on it that gives it a little sweetness with a slight after kick. It's the proper balance of sweet and spicy. The chicken is fried to perfect crispness and despite the addition of coleslaw and the sauce it still maintains its crunch.

If you've ever been along the Mississippi River during Christmas and seen them bonfires stacked up you'll understand the name of this burger. "The Bon-Fiya" is stacked up like it's waiting to light the way for Santa! 🤣 This burger has a hamburger patty, topped with a hot sausage patty, topped with slices smoke sausage!! It's a meat fest! I get mine minus the jalapeños cause the heat from the hot sausage is enough for me. But either way you won't be disappointed.

The "Young Money" will have you thinking you know Wayne, Drake, and Nicki!! The bacon is nice and crispy and that bacon onion jam will make you fall in love with onions. You can tell its perfectly sautéed together to give it that marriage of flavors. Even the cheese is melted just right! Again, I don't do jalapeños but I know I'm not missing any flavor from this burger.

It's a cozy little dining room with probably a dozen tables. There's a picture room with swings to get your Instagram photos done. I've always had great service, no complaints there.

The food was really good, but we had the rudest waitress I've ever had in my life. We ordered an appetizer & I specifically asked for it to be served BEFORE our meals came out. Needless to say, our entrees came to the table first. I told the young man that brought our meals to the table to cancel the appetizer & he didn't know what I was talking about & went back to the kitchen. 1/2-way through our MEALS, the waitress came with the appetizer and immediately got rude when I told her I had asked for a refund when the entrees came out first. She argued with me about how everything is "dropped" at the same time & the appetizer took longer than the entrees. I reminded her that I had specifically requested the appetizer come before the entrees. She agreed but continued to argue her point that everything was dropped at the same time & the appetizer took longer. When I saw i was getting nowhere with her, I asked for a box/container so I could take my things to go. At this point, I had lost my appetite & was ready to leave. No apology was offered, & I asked for my check. She handed it to me (yes, I paid for the appetizer, too), I handed her my card & she did the rest on her handheld gadget, then handed it to me to sign. My niece was with me, & when she went to pay for hers, I noticed she had an extra step during her checkout process...before she signed the gadget, she was given the option to tip...that step was skipped (obviously by the waitress) before it was handed to me to sign! So, not only was her service to our table horrible, she became rude, disrespectful, & refused to admit i did not receive my order as requested. That night, I made the decision to never go back, even though the food FAR OUTSHINES...

I went there twice is one day. Something changed in between the quality within those several hours. My first meal was wings with some cheese fries. Everything was great but waiting at the window 45 minutes to an hour in the heat was not great. Customers around me agreed. Maybe they can setup a system to contact you on your phone when the food is done. Other then that they should close the outside orders. The food was fantastic but not worth the wait if you are hungry.

My second meal was a philly cheesesteak burger and crab cake rice. I was also with my parents at this time. Idk what happened but in the time the food was made and put on the table the bread on the burger got soggy, the meat was cold. The rice was cold. Everything was terrible. If it had come fresh out, it woulda been fantastic. It was also another 45 minute to an hour wait. My parents also got burgers and it was also cold. The waitress lady was great but having 1 waitress for a full restraunt is not the move. She was overwhelmed and overworked. My parents also complained that they didnt take cash because of an "issue" the lady stated. My first meal I would give 4 stars, my second I would give 1. Therefore leaving the review at a 3.

I'm hoping these are just bc the first month of launch but they gotta step it up. These people down south are picky and dont like trying anything new and you really gootta blow it out the water to have an establishment here. I want Kajun...
