This was my 3rd time at Big Mike's. 1st time, it was awesome. 2nd time, my ribeye was about 70% fat. I didn't return my steak that night, but did point out to my waiter the amount of fat cut away from the meat. He responded it was alot of fat, but didn't offer any type of compensation. I wasn't expecting a free meal, but the gesture would have been nice since my complaint was an obvious one. Tonight, my father, sister, and I took my mother to Big Mike's for her birthday. She and I ordered ribeyes- she requested hers at medium well and I asked for medium. Both steaks were cooked to extreme well done. I normally don't return my food, but after paying for a $28 piece of fat last time and being served a steak tonight that was cooked so long, it was stringy, I asked for another steak. I was promptly served a new steak, cooked to my request, but should not have had to send back a steak at a steakhouse for not being cooked properly. My father's crab claws were cooked too long and had become hard. The flavor of the steaks is great, but I feel that if you own a steakhouse, your cooks should know how to cook a steak to the customer's request. Great atmosphere and service. But, next time I want a steak, I'll stay home and grill my own. Reading Big Mike's responses to others with complaints made me never want to give him my hard earned...
Read moreShowed up after the Iron Bowl. Super easy going atmosphere. Seated by friendly host. Menu was 2 page simple. I went with the burger. No doubt, in all my life (I'm old too) that this was the best burger that I have had the pleasure of eating! Cooked perfectly and the taste was out of this world! Fresh everything. Wife had the yard bird and it was a very large amount of chicken cooked to perfection. Waiter was very attentive and they were busy. Bro-in-law got the tuna. He said it was perfect too. It looked EXACTLY like the picture on the menu. Like they brought the menu picture out and served it or something. After the ticket was paid (very reasonable for the quality of food btw) we went to the bar area to watch the rest of a football game. We met Mike. Mike was as cool as they come! He made us feel like family. Spoke to us like old friends. Super friendly with an absolute great attitude! He also knows a thing or 2 about football! We had no idea what to expect when we walked in and now this place is a MUST EAT on the way to/from the games!
Thanks so much for your dedication to detail and bringing me the best burger on the planet! You guys ROCK!

Read moreI have dined at hundreds of restaurants all over the country. This was the worst food I have ever encountered. It is a casual atmosphere with craft paper table covers and stackable vinyl banquet chairs. The bar is poorly stocked - No Johnny Walker, no Bombay Sapphire and the cocktails they did serve were amateurish and overpriced. The place is staffed by inexperienced kids. Their biggest selling side is a twice baked potato casserole. That should be easy, but ours were both undercooked and cold. My filet was properly cooked, but served cold. The Caeser salad was nothing special with the dressing served in those little plastic cafeteria containers. The chicken dish was gross and not edible. I expect that nothing is house made but rather comes frozen from a restaurant distributor like Sysco and gets microwaved and dumped on a plate. Typically, independent restaurants in small towns do a very good job. That's not true here. This is one case where the systems and standards used by the big corporate chains would make a big...
