This place is fantastic. Jimmy the owner is always friendly. The servers are always pleasant and efficient and the manager deserves extra praise. She juggles multiple tasks with ease especially when the place gets busy. The food is always great. The menu is solid and quite diverse (sandwiches, soups, salads, Italian items, vegetables, etc). I've had many of the items and never been disappointed by any of them. Portions are big. Prices are fair. Service is always on point. Really all you can ask. They have a drive-thru for pickup. Also, their desserts are always spot on and I'm pretty sure most if not all are homemade. Cakes, pies and cobblers.

I give Rosa Mae's 3.5 stars...not bad actually! And I'm a food critic lol First time eating Rosa Mae's. Nice staff. I wanted to know if cornbread was sweet & was given a sample. I ordered grilled chicken with onions, mashed potatoes, & broccoli with a roll. Everything was delicious except the broccoli. It tasted like it was steamed in water only. I season mine with a little garlic salt & paprika at home. My husband got a flounder plate, pintos, slaw, hush puppies. He enjoyed everything

Great food, cheap prices and amazing people. We had food catered for a family event and couldn't be happier with the turn out. Jimmy and his staff are so friendly and welcoming, I'm really glad we could give them our business. 10/10 would do again. Will come back and definitely recommend you go to. Best hot chips I've had in so long.

Rosa Mae's is one of those small Southern town, fried green tomato, kiss-my-grits kind of diners - frequented by the locals, distained by the foo/foo crowd and the drive-by grazers. All in all a solid, relaxing place to grab a country cooking meal - that is what they offer, and they do it well - with good service, and a nice smile.

The restaurant has some age on it, as do many of the diners here - remember, follow the blue hairs for value meals. The interior is a bit of a maze, a little dimly lit, but comfortable, relaxing.

The menu is broad for a place this size - a nice list of sandwiches, including burgers, hot dogs (really, really good!) chicken salad, tuna salad, BLT, Flounder, Grilled Cheese, Hoagies, and more - and even an Open Face Roast Beef, and an even more interestingly, a Country Style Steak Sandwich.

Variety of meat & 2 plates - Fried Steak, CS Steak, Chicken Tenders, Pork Chops, Chicken Livers, Beef Liver, Veal Cutlet, Ham Steak, a nice assortment of Fried Seafood, and even Chopped BBQ. Daily specials are available, and they offer over 20 side dishes to accompany these choices.

Some Italian items - Spaghetti (a number of different ways, including Greek), Lasagna, Cheese Manacotti, Veal Parmesan, and yes, even more. Nice selection of salads for those wanting something lighter - not sure why, but some do.

The Fried Steak (Chicken Fried Steak to me) was excellent - right up there with Smith Street Diner & Moose Cafe in G'boro - and a nice portion. The Fried Chicken Livers were also well sized, and delicious - crusty on the outside, tender and tasty inside. The Fried Okra was very nice, as was the buttered Rice with gravy - the Pintos were bland, and the Fried Squash was not memorable. Cheese Biscuits are nice - rolls, not so much.

Chili dog was very, very, very good - great meaty chili with rich flavor, nice weiner, and a soft bun - at $2, a little high, but awfully good. They also are a little different for this type restaurant in that they offer beer & even a small selction of...

2 of us ordered vegetable plates &we waited 42 minutes for our food &it was barely warm.Have eaten here several times in past 2 years &service &food was MUCH better. Our waitress was not to be seen most of the time on this visit &her other tables shared the same experience we did.She didn't introduce herself& asked if we were ready to order just as soon as the hostess seated us,before we opened the menus. The restaurant was crowded&full when we arrived at 1155am on Thursday,so we expected to wait a few minutes on our food. However, 3 tables near us were leaving as we were seated, all 3 tables filled up quickly, placing their order with a different waitress & all of the customers received their meals &were eating before we got our veggie plates. We didn't see our waitress after we ordered until she brought our food 42 minutes later. We asked for coffee refills from another waitress that was nearby. I also waited in line to pay for a good while, behind 14 more customers, all of us waiting for someone to come to the register. This is the only time I have had a less than great experience here, but not sure if we will...

Disappointing after reading many 4-5 star reviews. Went there for the first time on a Thursday afternoon. Food was mediocre at best. My guest had the 2 pork chops which were literally 1/4" thick and overcooked to dryness. Place was average on cleanliness. Some of the staff were attentive & friendly, but a few of the staff gave us the impression we were a bother to be there. We were looking for a new, good family diner/cafe to frequent. We will not be frequenting Rosa Mae's cafe and don't plan to ever go back. Many other family owned diners/cafes around that have way better food and value for the money. I don't enjoy giving negative reviews, but strive to be truthful based on my experience. My dinner guest who never complains about a restaurant meal no matter how bad it is, did not enjoy his meal of dried, wafer thin pork chops. I honestly think the customers who gave 4 & 5 star reviews must have beem...
