Stopped by on a rainy Wed evening. Followed a group of 6, we are a family of 5 with 3 young children. Arrived around 730pm and they were slated to close by 9pm. Were greeted and seated in a timely manner but could tell the hostess /waitress was frazzled with 11 ppl walking thru the door. One kids menu available, waitress had to retrieve it from the other table with kids. Waitress was attentive, food was OK. Onion rings were over done, fries were great. Ordered Parmesan garlic wings which were lacking in flavor and fatty. Kids liked their food - Kraft Mac N' Cheese, grilled cheese and mini corn dogs. Have pool table and arcade game, no change machine. Asked for change for $1 and waitress had to rifle thru her own purse to get change; as there was none available - we got (3) quarters, (2) dimes and a nickel. Thankfully it was enough for the kids to play the arcade game. However if you are going to have an arcade game and a pool table, please have change...

I wish there was a 4.5 star option. This was a great little find. Food was amazing and they had some unique options. Service was awesome, drinks filled on time, area cleared. My only complaint was we were in a adult group of 4, we were the only ppl inside, the guy watched us roll up on 2 bikes, Hence 2 couples, even discussed our ride in and at the end still joined our bill together when it should have been separated. I asked him to separate the bill and pointed out the couples (us 2, them 2 ) I had already added my total and said mine should be about 41, when I got it it was 32. He came back asked if it was right, i told him no, he said didn't you have this and this, i said yes and the 2 drinks, which he out on our friends bill making it more for them. Huge issue for some to do this. Please get how ppl want their bills before bringing bill out. Saves a lot of headache for everyone...

We went there so we could sit outside on the patio with our dogs. We had literally just been seated when a guy comes right next to us mowing the grass and stirring up a swarm of mosquitoes. VERY inconsiderate! We had to put the dogs in the car and go inside to eat.

As for the food, we ordered the fish tacos and steak loaded nachos, both of which were "MEH" at best. The loaded nachos were very underwhelming. VERY little meat. Mainly lettuce, onions and cheese SAUCE on the chips. The cheese sauce was too much. You would expect shredded cheese on true nachos. And they should inform on the menu that it's cheese sauce and not the shredded cheese you'd expect. You would also expect black olives. You have to ask for Jalapeños, but at least they don't charge extra.

Our server was the only good thing...

We visited for dinner on a Thursday in August. We visited the spring first and ate around 6pm. There were only a few tables occupied at the time. We sat outside under a pergola. Most of the seating is inside. They have several TVs for sports games and news. They had several good local beers on tap. The bathrooms were very clean. We ordered two kids chicken fingers, a chicken club and chipotle chicken tacos. The food was fantastic. We got sweet potato fries with a sweet maple dip and Parmesan garlic fries with a spicy aoli. The service was very good and fast. I think we were in and out in less than an hour. I loved the cute cottage decor. There's plenty of parking for busy days.

Hidden gem. After a lovely stop at Palms Book State Park, Big Spring Tavern is just a moment outside of the park. We ate lunch in this clean and welcoming restaurant. The food was fresh and delicious. I had the Chicken Club. The chicken was a little well cooked for me, but still moist and flavorful. The ciabatta roll was delicious! Sweet potato fries tasted homemade. Friendly and quick service made the stop one to remember.
