This is my second time dining here. As my family and I were pulling in, people were already lining up at the door. Only a few people were let in at a time. Not sure why, guessing they were taking precautions to keep patrons safe? Totally understandable and appreciated. The first time I went here it was buffet style. This time, you were served-fine. The ambience is friendly, funny (many cute good related signs around the restaurant) and bustling. If you’re an Elvis fan, you’ll love this place, his photos are adorned on every wall space throughout the establishment. I ordered my usual down home comfort meal-fried chicken? Mack and cheese, dressing and yams. I tasted my cousins fried fish-yummy! The fried chicken was on point unfortunately, the Mac and cheese fell short of southern cooking standards. It was a bit watery and lacked flavor. The yams were a bit dry but had some flavor. The dressing was ok. I’m a New Yorker, this is what I would expect from Northern cooks not cooks from the south. Aside from those 3 things, I would recommend eating here. If you are a connoisseur of those 3 dishes, I suggest you stay away from them. And the deviled eggs. They were a bit on the dry side too. Hoping today was just an off day. Last time I ate here EVERYTHING WAS DEELISH!
One other important thing I failed to include…the owners are absolutely PHENOMENAL about responding to their customers reviews. I appreciate how they acknowledge feedback constructively. This is the kind of establishment I want to do business with. I feel my voice is heard, my opinion respected and we can...
Read moreCozy atmosphere. My husband and were traveling for work, he is a paramedic, and I am a emt. We know where not to come back to.. I felt out of place and could tell something was off.. the young lady that was serving tea.. was so rude, she served every table that had white occupants their refills, not us.my last time ever going their.. we made sure to let our co workers know of the underhanded prejudices.. We could’ve eaten anywhere and gotten better service. The chicken tasted like the grease was old.. the collard greens had too many stems which made them tough and bitter tasting. The hash brown casserole was hot. The peach cobbler had 1 peach sliced in half lost in a whole lotta bread dough. It’s just...
Read moreWas on the way home to NC after watching the Atlanta Braves win the National League East title. We wanted hometown country cooking, and google maps took us to a wonderful place, off the beaten path, in Thomson, GA just off I 20 N. It was a perfect choice as Sweet T's had exactly what I was longing for, exceptional country cooking, and exceptional customer service. All the food was so delicious, the cracklin cornbread, and fried chicken reminded me of my grandma's cooking. I have saved this location to revisit on future trips in the area....
