Orchard Tea Room at the Rose Hip Barn — Restaurant in Thornbury Township

This tea room was very nice and appropriate for a proper English-style Tea. It’s in a very old house (Colonial, I believe) and furnished with an antique flair so it was fun to eat there. My only complaint is that we all three thought it was unreasonably expensive for what it was [nothing fancy or special, unlike the Painted Teacup who’s prices are the same but at least has special food]. An Afternoon Tea that would be about $14 to $17 other places was closer to $28 or $29 here. [I’m speaking of the 3-tiers with scone, 5 tea sandwiches, petit-four and sweets]. I’m estimating those prices because it’s been a year since I was there (and won’t return because of price) so I can’t quite remember the prices, but no one else has left a review so I thought someone should. My sister and I had tea in this adorable tea room about a month ago and really enjoyed it. After a couple of times driving right past the location, we finally found it, so just look for the small sign next to the huge tree. That’s the only reason for the 4 stars.
