No greeter or host when we arrived, we got pointed to a general area by someone from the bar when we were trying to figure out if we seat ourselves, guess you do but a sign or something would be great. Seemed like there was plenty of staff, as some were sitting while we were there, so, I think you could have someone meeting people when they arrive and seating them.
Service wasn't great, our first server, seemed confused that I wanted a water before anything else to drink. Wish I hadn't gotten it, because it tasted odd to me. Ordered an appetizer, it arrived with the rest of our food. It took both of our servers to bring the tortillas that come with fajitas. The bartender became our second server, not sure why, tried upselling us to get more drinks. Nobody asked us how things were, or anything, we left over half our order on the table and didn't want anything to go.
The food and drink were very disappointing. Everything was just warm, not hot, but over cooked and tough. Fajitas platters usually come out sizzling and everything on it is hot, not the case, but the steak was well done, tough, and chewy. The burritos tortilla was also tough and chewy, not the kind of thing we enjoy. The margarita we ordered was okay, but not as good as I had hoped after seeing reviews.
Would not recommend to anyone, and we...
Read moreAfter looking over at their website and reading some of the reviews.. We decided to try this today at lunch and placed a pick-up order.
We ordered a lunch steak Ranchero, steak chimi and combo #6 with a side of taco and hot sauce.
As soon as I opened my order (steak ranchero) I was dismayed. The food looked extremely bland as if someone just threw everything on a plate without even thinking about it. The shredded cheese for the taco was on the side of the plate, not in or even on the taco itself. It didn't look fresh at all. The steak, including the chimi, was extremely chewy and dry - you can tell from the picture. It didn't come with onions, bell peppers - nothing. I can tell it wasn't fresh. I hate to use the word "disgusting" but it's almost what it looked like. Unsurprisingly, our food tasted the way it looked. Oh they also forgot the hot sauce, which we mentioned twice on the phone. I'm not sure if this was due to the order being to-go or that it's lunch, because it looks nothing like the pictures they have online. I'm giving this place the benefit of the doubt; hence, the only reason why I'm not...
Read moreWe recently visited Casa Tequila in Tiffin for a meal and, unfortunately, left with more than we bargained for. After dining here, both of us experienced stomach issues, which raises serious concerns about food safety and freshness.
We arrived just as the restaurant opened, but the beef in our dishes tasted under seasoned and didn’t seem fresh, almost as though it had been left over from the previous night. Not something that you would expect right at opening time.
Another frustration was the pricing. They charge a different amount if you pay with a card versus cash, which feels like an unnecessary surcharge. Businesses should build the fees into their menu prices rather than adding them as a “hidden” cost for customers who prefer the convenience of paying by card.
The tipping process was also disappointing. When we paid, we had to hand over our card to the server, who carried a mobile device with pre-set tipping options of 20%, 25%, and 30% with 25% being the default! If we were on vacation or celebrating then maybe 20% would be appropriate, but 15-18% is the norm and neither of those...
