GW's Fine Food & Spirits — Restaurant in Tiffin

On an extremely busy Friday, I got off work late and had to get a money order from Walmart to pay rent. I had to drop the money off in the drop box in the building next to GW’s, and while I understand there’s signs say customers only, I was walking 20 feet there and back and then leaving, because all I wanted to do was go home to relieve our baby sitter. As there was no parking anywhere in a 2 block radius I parked at GWs and tried to quickly get there and made it 5 feet from my car before a group of middle aged people sat there screaming at me to leave, not giving me a chance to explain. I ended up having to walk twelve minutes from my car to the drop box, just because someone wanted to be rude. We dined here today and was disappointed that they had run out of rye toast, which ruled out breakfast for me. Instead, I opted for the roast beef dinner with double fried potatoes, while Tim chose the Beef Manhattan with mashed potatoes, gravy, and green beans. Notably, the mashed potatoes were homemade, a definite plus. The roast beef was tender and shredded, absolutely delightful. However, the gravy fell short, tasting like it came from a can or packet mix. It was a missed opportunity to create a rich homemade gravy using the roast's drippings. Only reason to come here is the food. The food was amazing! I dont know where they get there beef but it is some of the best beef I have had. Very clean. The only thing I would change is the service. The service was terrible, my husband tried to tell her his food was amazing and she ignored him, my drink sat empty most the time we were there, she even started removing plate and never once asked if I wanted a refill, she never asked if we wanted boxes we had to tell her, and over all was not very friendly. Maybe she was just having a bad day. We will go back I just hope next time...
