The place is adorable and in an area that I would frequent much more often if not for the terrible service and food items not coming as described. This is not my first trip in here with problems. Some things are little and can just be overlooked. But little things add up. Today, I ordered soft taco with chicken and no lettuce. I pointed to the soft tacos on the menu when I said it in case her English wasn't very good. I received hard tacos with lettuce. Received attitude when I asked to have them switched to the soft tacos I ordered. I didn't even ask to have them without the lettuce the second time. I ordered dessert and had the gentleman described what came with the dessert. Since I had a previous experience where I ordered fried ice cream and it didn't look anything like the picture or what I have seen before as fried ice cream. It was just ice cream with sprinkles. Just from the time I ordered the dessert this time to it coming to me, it totally changed. It was supposed to be deep fried with ice cream and whipped cream on it. The gentleman described it not just as I learned from the menu. It was a soft flour tortilla with some cream cheese filling in it, never deep fried and no ice cream with it. Decided just to let it go after the attitude I received for asking that the tacos be switched from hard to soft. I asked for my check, and she disappeared to get it and didn't return. About 15 minutes later, when she came near the table again (not stopping just close by), I again asked if I could get my check. She said yes and went to get it. Nothing. Then finally I asked a 3rd time and it was brought to me. She set it down and turned to leave, saying, "Let me know when it is ready to take up." Now, mind you, I already had my card in my hand to give to her.
Positive did not outweigh the negative this time. But the tacos, when done right, they are good. Just don't get attached to eating what you order. And know that it will take forever so don't ever go if you have anything else going on in the same day. The flavors in the main food have been good. She also refilled my drink when it was empty, which was something I had a hard time getting the last visit.
Negative is that the service is awful. I have really only seen one gentleman working in there. I think it might be the manager but not really sure. He is also friendly, which is a bonus because nobody else is.
If going here, clear your schedule for hours even if the place is nearly empty. It doesn't matter. It will...
Read moreThis was our first time and last time. They brought out chips and 1 tiny bowl of salsa . The Mexican restraunt we have gone to where we lived previous always brought 2 bowls . While we waited for them to bring waters we of course ate on our chips and what few bites of salsa that was in the bowl. When they came back several minutes later , we had no waters and now no salsa. We asked for 2 individual containers of salsa and ordered 2 drinks. When our drinks came out that were no longer frozen at all and the glasses were all swetty from sitting so long and was extremely sweet. We were still at this point waiting for salsa and waters! They came to take order and we ordered fatijas and again mentioned salsa and waters! They brought salsa out(which was good a good salsa) then came our fatijas that was not even sizzling at all like fatijas do. We were like in shock starring at the food . It looked bad. We waited for them to come back as we didn't have no silverware and didn't have any of the rest of the meal. Salad, rice , beans quac ,sour cream. We waited 4 minutes before someone came back to us and we had to flag them down. Had to ask for silver ware and remaining food. At this point we were already to the point of leaving as it was a total disaster and by the looks of the fatijas we knew what that situation was going to be like. The onions and peppers and tomatoes was cooked to complete mush which was why it looked so bad......We took one bite and it was a absolute a no go! We flagged our waiter down and explained our entire situation and that we would pay for the drinks as that's all cause we had taken a few sips of it but we wanted our check. He gets a manger who comes over and asked the problem we explained. He stared at the food and again asked what's wrong with it. All of it was untouched . We went through the whole process again and just wanted to pay for our drinks so we could leave . That would have easily been a $100.00 bill after a good tip. I do not know how this place has so many 5 stars. Maybe just a one time bad day for us but literally everything was horrible from the start but we would never go back and was really hoping to have new place to go to. It was father's day and was busy but we did not see these issues going on around us as far as not having waters or silverware on the table or there server Mia and we saw several fatijas come...
Read moreFraudulent Charges – Beware of Altered Receipts
I wanted to add Angus Mexican Restaurant to my regular rotation, but after what happened, I have to reconsider. After leaving the restaurant, I found out a few days later that the server had altered the tip on my receipt after I left. I originally left a fair tip, but the server changed it without my consent and charged my card an additional $37, which ended up being a 45% tip!
When we reached out to the manager, he was apologetic and admitted another customer had a similar issue, but he couldn’t offer a refund and told me to dispute it with my credit card company. Now, I’m stuck dealing with the hassle of fixing something that should never have happened.
It’s disappointing that a place with good food allows this kind of behavior. If you decide to eat here, make sure you check your credit card statement after your visit—this kind of fraudulent activity really makes me...
