King House — Restaurant in Virginia

Myself and 3 colleagues went here to King House on Wards. Wed, May 31st. There was just one guy here by himself working. He was really nice at first while ordering. We ordered 4 general tsos 2 w/fried rice 2 w/white rice. The guy brought our food to us and we noticed the chicken doesnt really resemble chicken. It seemed weird to us. After we took a few bites, we asked for a refund and told him we weren't eating it. He was pretty upset. He gave a refund, and called us non americans. I asked what he meant. He said you are not a real american. He went on to say Real americans do not do this, like you do. I told him being american and returning food had nothing to do with each other. He claimed they did and told me to study about america.... O..K... He seems kind of off. Might have to do w/ a language barrier. Either way I wouldnt listen to anything he says. He was nice though at first. We just didnt enjoy the food, and didnt like the way it looked.

The food was just average. I did buy what most reviews recommended. The guy working all by himself was very nice. But the place was packed with people waiting. And I ordered online and then went to pick it up. Even doing this and showing up about 10 minutes after the time it said it would take online (because it still didn't say it was ready) I still waited nearly 40 additional minutes for it. The dish was sweeter than what I am used to for the dish. But everything except the egg roll seemed to be fresh. The restaurant appearance was very dirty walking in. The kitchen area seemed okay. Nothing that made me think I would get sick from the food. But walking into a dirty dining area is a little disheartening. I cannot say enough positive though about how nice the guy was. Best Chinese food in all of Lynchburg. Only one guy working, and he's incredible at his job. I've never had a single complaint in all my times going to this location. The guy that works there is very friendly and remembers faces. He almost knows exactly what you want from the moment you walk in. It's a much better location there than the one on memorial ave. The only issue im having is. The website and sign says opens at 11:00am, and it is almost 12:00pm. I wish he would get here at 11 like the website and sign on the door says. Over all 100% always satisfied...
