I had my wedding (both ceremony and reception) here last August and was blown away by the professionalism, attention to detail, enthusiasm, and the attention I received by not only the coordinator, Brittany (who is phenomenal) but by ALL of the staff right down to the servers and bus boys. Every detail was taken care of. Brittany was a humongous help in the planning process, and she made sure the entire day went smoothly. The grounds and the setting of the Golden Pheasant made for absolutely gorgeous pictures that I still fawn over every day. It was the perfect setting for an intimate and private ceremony and reception.
The food and drinks exceeded my expectations and my guests were incredibly happy with their meal selections as well as their appetizers. Unlike most married couples, my husband and I actually got to taste the food served at the cocktail hour because Brittany and her team assembled our own "buffet" in the Delaware Suite where we stayed on our wedding night. The staff made sure we were fed in between photography sessions even though it was such an overwhelming time. The bartender made sure my drink was never empty at all during the entire day - bless him for making all those mojitos. The service was so impressive that one of the waitresses even gave me a calming pep talk and reassuring words before I made my walk down the aisle - she was seriously one of the sweetest people I've ever talked too!
The room was a dream and we seriously felt like royalty in the Delaware Suite, which also made for some beautiful 'getting ready' pictures before the ceremony. The morning after our wedding and our stay, we had an incredible brunch and once again the service was beyond wonderful. Since our wedding, we have been back for meals and we are still blown away by the quality of the food and the friendly and caring service from all staff members. If you are a bride please do not overlook this venue - they seriously made sure the wedding of my dreams...
Read moreYou hold your breath when you rave about a restaurant and suddenly your friends want to meet there for a Saturday night dinner. Uh oh! Did I speak too highly or will they wonder what I was thinking? Must tell you this place did me proud. My friends want to become regulars here even if it means driving 50 miles. I couldn't have been happier or more proud. The place is romantic. It's stunningly old and a throwback 300 or more years to the stone inns of Colonial days. The menu is awesome, the food exceeds that and service is absolutely lovely. I LOVE walking in the door and I'm always reluctant to leave. Tonight I sat at the bar and was warmed by the company. This is home. It's quiet enough to talk, share intimate conversation or do as I often do, sit with crossword and sudokus while lingering for a couple hours Interrupted occasionally with an interesting story. Nice people here, too. I hated to leave tonight. Walked in the door and just had to tell you what a lovely and exquisitely fine evening I had.
Was there again last week. I cannot get over the imagination and work ethic the front and back of the house provide. Who thinks of a chilled honeydew soup? OMG, I should have taken a quart or two home. I could live on it. And the awesome salad? Again, I don't know where the imagination comes from to create such a wonder. It's not just the blueberries, nuts, cheese, greens, citrus, but a world of incredible mouthful of cold, crunch making you sad that each bite leaves that much less on your plate to enjoy.
They had a special priced menu insert for locals but now on Thursday, and maybe Friday, instead offer everyone 1/2-price bottles of wine. Who more cares for its guests than a fine upscale restaurant offering half-price bottles?
This place is a rare find. I don't know how the chef does it, but what he creates is awesome and affordable. Hope my raves don't lock me out. What...
Read moreWe have been searching for a new favorite restaurant and thought this might be one to try. I must say that the ride in the Bucks County countryside and then along the Delaware just added to the whole affair. The drive alone is worth the trip. The Inn is nicely renovated and the dining area we were seated in is very nicely appointed. The windows all around offer great views of the river. Our waitress was very helpful and pleasant and our drinks arrived quickly. I was pleasantly surprised by the bartenders skill with making a superior Vespers. We were here for brunch and I chose the French Onion Soup as an appetizer while my wife decided to pass. She ordered the Eggs Benedict and I the Crab Omelet although I also considered the Duck Hash as well. The Onion Soup arrived and looked great with a crispy coating of melted Gruyere. The soup base was deep and rich and the onions were sliced very thin but still retained their body. I was also pleased with the acoustics of this room as it was much quieter than I expected and you could easily have a conversation even though the space was full. The large fireplace at the far end must be very nice on a winter's evening. our food arrived on a good pace and was plated nicely. I rarely order crab omelets but this one was very good. The finely chopped bacon was a nice counterpoint to the mild flavor of the crab while the eggs were light and fluffy. The frites were interesting as well and quite crispy outside while being creamy on the inside. My wife commented on how good the Truffle Hollandaise was on her Benedict but I never got a taste as she finished it all. We looked at the desert menu but decided we had enough. It was a very nice dining experience all around. The ambiance of the Inn, the wait staff and the setting all came together nicely. We plan to try it again...
