The Catch — Restaurant in Toa Baja

TLDR: Great food, fresh ingredients, good service, good prices. Must try!

This was my second time visiting- it was a last minute decision to stop by. I happened to have my dog with me and I was pleasantly surprised that they allowed for us to eat in with my dog. The staff was so friendly (my dog can be a little loud when she first meets strangers), they really made my dog feel at ease and their service was great. The food....it's so good!!! Fresh ingredients and very good flavor! Their arroz mamposteao is one of the best I've ever had. It's so flavorful and a very generous portion. I'm personally not a huge fan of fish, but their fish tacos are so delicious! Definitely add the spicy crab to it (you won't regret it!). We also tried the surullitos de maiz - you can tell they're made from scratch and fresh! They were crunchy but soft on the inside with a hint of sweetness- very yummy! We also have tried a variation of their pastelillos- I personally really liked the ones filled with camarones (shrimp) and the ones with langosta (lobster), but the other flavors are good as well. Their arepas were algo so good, my favorite was the coconut flavor. Their mofongo is something special- I LOVE mofongo in general, but I loved their take on mofongo. Somehow it's like a traditional mofongo but the the outside is extra crispy- like it's fried again after putting the mofongo together- it makes for a great variation of textures and the flavor is so good. I recently had lunch at The Catch and had a very good experience. The ambiance was pleasant and created a comfortable atmosphere. After visiting the Bacardi Distillery, we were looking for a sit-down lunch nearby. The Catch got out attention and drove there. No other customer there so we had complete attention from the owner/server/cook. He was nice to explain the local food and give us some samples to tase.
