My wife and I were in the area for visit to the prison and had to find something to do for an hour or so. As we head to the prison we saw the buffet sign and both said might have to stop there so we decided that we would go there to eat while we had to wait to see the inmate we came to see. When we got back to eat we walked in and I noticed the great atmosphere and cleanliness of the place and was happy. For a buffet place they didn't have a lot of choices but what they did was good. First thing I saw that I hadn't had in a long time was the fried green tomatoes which were good, then the meatloaf was good as well. I decided to grab some dessert on my first time up and got what I read as apple cobbler. I ate the cobbler and was very happy with it along with the fried chicken. When I went up for my second plate they brought out fresh pan of BBQ ribs so I grabbed some of them, more fried chicken, chicken broccoli cheese rice and boiled cabbage. All were very good but the ribs were so tender and delicious that went back to get a few more of them and also more of the cobbler. At this point when scooping out the cobbler I noticed that it wasn't apples in but pineapple so I looked at the sign and that's what it's said I was getting was pineapple cobbler. I topped the cobbler with a little ice cream and went back to my table to eat. The ribs even better the second time and when I got into the pineapple cobbler with ice cream I was like in heaven it was that darn good. Thank you for the cooks and servers whom made the food and help keep the place looking good. If the family and I are in the area again we will be stopping in again. Praise be to the BBQ ribs and pineapple cobbler top of the list of my favorites. As for prices I thought it was right for what we had let alone about the normal for a buffet which I know a lot about since if I can it's the type of place I love to go to eat. Hope to see you all soon and keep up the great...

We went here on our to unicoi state park campgrounds. I looked online and facebook and it had great reviews. It was dinner time when we went and it was busy. We were given a number at the door and told to sit and wait on it to be called. The area to sit in was hot like it had no air conditioning. It was set up like a Ryan's or Quincys if yall remember that. Waitress was nice but, doing the regular buffet stuff of course refilling drinks and picking up plates. They have a selection of food different meats fish, pot pie, fried chicken (no white meat which is weird), salad bar with all the usual plus feta cheese, 2 soups, a dessert bar and ice cream machine. One weird thing to not they dont have cocktail sauce for your fish!🤔 The food WAS NOT WORTH the stars it got. Cabbage is huge pieces that was not cooked all the way through, Mac and cheese tastes like it frozen and microwaved, banana pudding tastes like banana flavored pudding with bananas and wafers, the greens didnt reallly have a meat flavoring to them. I was not the only one in the ice cream line that noticed that the strawberry cobbler was brown and didnt look right it looked like chocolate cobbler. We just didnt find anything on the bar that would justify the stars given to this place. 😕 were we excited to...

This place use to be a good place to eat but something has changed in the last 6 months. We arrived on 9-2 and immediately as we walked in the door we noticed that the place smelt like sour vomit. We explored different areas and found a table where the smell wasn't quite as bad. We asked the waitress about the smell but she had no idea what had happened. We got our plates and got food, as we passed the food area we noticed an employee styling another employees hair next to the food and then she began handling the food without washing her hands. Once we sat down we had to get our own tea refills because the waitress was too busy cutting up with another waitress. We attempted to eat our food but soon the sour vomit smell got to us so we left. Its really a shame because this use to be our favorite place to eat. Im not sure what happened but this place is not what it use to be. The chicken was so hard we actually had to crack it open just to get to the very dry meat and the macaroni tasted like powered cheese. Even the plates were dirty and we had to sort through them to find plates that didn't have dried food on them. This place is obviously being poorly managed now. Sadly we will not...

So, this is a buffet, and a Country buffet at that, so not a lot of surprises in selection, which is not a bad thing if that is what you are looking for. The fried chicken and fried green tomatoes were piled high on both sides of the buffet, so a favorite for sure. This was a Thursday I went, so the menu varies day to day (see pic). Everything was expected and my experience positive. I arrived as they opened at 11am and the food was fresh and the place clean. As others have said the staff are all super friendly (notable in these times). I wish I could have tried the pecan pie, but as a diabetic I was pushing it as it was with some of the items. There were baked chicken, salisbury steak, and grilled pork chops, so I could get my fill without fried breading (I almost couldn't resist it looked so good). My only suggestions would be to use fresh green beans, not canned, and not to grill the pork chops so much (couldn't eat it I it was so overdone). Overall, you get what you expect at a country buffet and there is plenty of variety to satisfy most.

Lord a mercy! My eXp Real Estate co workers / agents were extremely hungry after staging a property in Toccoa. We asked the property attendant where could we find a place to eat and he suggested M & J. I was a little skeptical due to the area being extremely rural not too diverse. So I went inside looked around and spoke to a patron and he said the food was good. So, the crew and I decided to eat at M & J. Lord have mercy, the food was delicious and seasoned very well. The restaurant is buffet style and stocked with plenty of gloves for Covid sanitation safety. I had a spoonful of turnip greens, mashed potato with Salisbury steak and gravy, corn muffin, cabbage, chicken livers and so much more including unsweetened tea. Our lunch was extremely delicious and the atmosphere was inviting. So inviting that we all voted that M&J is invited to our cookout! We have coined M & J as our new spot when we visit Toccoa!
