I had to take away a star from my review today after we stood waiting to get a table for about 12 minutes without being acknowledged in any way other than brief eye contact a few times. Very very awkward to stand there for that long with my kids as all the seated customers stared at us. There were several tables in the process of being bussed but rather than getting one ready and seating us, the busser continued removing items from other tables. Eventually the server walked up looking like she was wondering what we were doing standing there. I said "3" to answer the unasked question and just move things along without incident. She said "oh, sit wherever you'd like" but there were no clean tables. There was no apology for keeping us waiting or the apparent confusion over why we were standing waiting for that long. I've experienced this sort of thing other times in small town establishments where they seem to assume that everyone "knows the drill". Please train staff to see every customer as a new customer until otherwise recognized, it will win repeat customers, great reviews, and referrals. All that said, I've had too many good experiences here in the past, the food today was excellent, and I'm very happy to see this business thriving in a small town, so much so that an incident like this can happen due to a very busy lunch hour on a Saturday. So 4 stars it is! I'll be back to let you earn that 5th one back. To...

We were driving our antiquated RV from San Diego to New Jersey and bar none . this tiny little diner in the middle of nowhere was the best breakfast and nicest folks I ever met. Eggs and toast and bacon was $3.19! After stopping mostly at the huge Truck Stops (Loves) for hundreds of miles it was such a PLEASANT surprise to eat with the real life "locals" and feel so welcome.
Our waitress' name was Courtney..absolutely wonderful. The other waitress whose name I did forget has a son who lived in New Jersey and we talked at length regarding the perceptions of our perspective states.
The entire town is like something out of a movie set.. just awesome.
If you get a chance to go anywhere near there...stop in, have a delicious meal and some of the best pies ever!
We had to get a tire change as that is why we were there in the first place.. after we met these folks we were smiling again.
The local tire shop had the greatest workers and even at 7am they were so helpful and kind and even gave us one of the workers ol' beat up pick ups to go for breakfast at the Filling Station because he realized we were hungry.
Honestly..we wanted to stay in that town all day..unfortunately we had to continue on home to NJ.. we will always remember the "kindness of strangers "

Read moreQuaint little place by the courthouse. I had heard legends of the Firey Peanut Butter Burger. It lived up to the hype. Patty tastes hand-made and is well seasoned. The combination of bacon, BBQ sauce, jalapenos and peanut butter is inspired. At just under $6 it is also a good value for the money. Might be even better with a slice of pepper jack cheese. I will do that next time.
The pie is amazing. If you come here you have to get a slice. You'll thank me.
Fries were good, but after the burger and pie I was pretty stuffed so I can't honestly assess them.
Staff is very friendly and service is fast.
