If you're seeking a gastronomic experience that transcends the ordinary, look no further than the M.O.A.D. (Mother of all Dogs) at Tony Packo's. This culinary creation is a true masterpiece that deserves nothing less than a resounding five-star review. As I eagerly sat down at Tony Packo's, my anticipation reached its peak when the M.O.A.D. was presented before me. It was a sight to behold—a work of culinary art. Picture this: a perfectly grilled M.O.A.D. nestled in a fluffy bun, adorned with a symphony of toppings that would make any food connoisseur weak in the knees. The first bite was pure bliss. The M.O.A.D., bursting with juiciness and flavor, was expertly cooked to perfection. The combination of textures was heavenly, with a delightful snap as I sank my teeth into it. Each ingredient played its part harmoniously—the tangy sauerkraut, the zesty mustard, the savory onions, and the crown jewel, the tantalizingly rich chili sauce. The bun, a crucial component often overlooked, was a star in its own right. It was pillowy soft, providing a sturdy yet tender base for the symphony of flavors. It was as if the bun had been custom-made to cradle the M.O.A.D. ensuring each bite was a harmonious combination of textures and tastes. The service at Tony Packo's was exceptional, with friendly staff who genuinely cared about the dining experience. They were knowledgeable about the menu and provided excellent recommendations, ensuring that every aspect of my visit was top-notch. In conclusion, the M.O.A.D. at Tony Packo's is a true gem that deserves its five-star status. From the moment it graces your table to the last delectable bite, it's a culinary journey that will leave you in awe. The impeccable combination of flavors, the quality of ingredients, and the attention to detail make this dish a true masterpiece. Don't miss the opportunity to indulge in this culinary marvel—it's an experience that will satisfy even the most discerning palates.

This was our first time dining here. It was very interesting from the moment you walked in. I’ve heard about this place but never dined here before. This is the Famous Tony Packos in Toledo Ohio. Jamie Farr, from M*A*S*H, (played Corporal Klinger) hails from Toledo, who made it famous worldwide. He mentioned it on a MASH episode. It is a little cool temperature wise but it was fine. Our waitress was amazing, so very friendly. The food was good. I had an original hotdog with a cup of chili. The chili is AMAZING! My boyfriend got the Hungarian hotdog (which is what they’re famous for) it’s a sausage like hotdog with all the trimmings on it, served with a cup of chili and a cabbage roll. It was a lot of food. Very delicious though. They have a little gift shop there. The coolest thing there is, they have styrofoam hotdog buns in showcases, that are authentically signed by celebrities, actors, presidents, famous people that have stopped by to dine here or have been in Toledo. The ones that were in Toledo, they contacted Tony Packos to have a bun ran down to them so they could sign it, for their walls. There are sooooo many of them all over the walls. It’s was very interesting to look at. I took a couple if pics from some. I did see Mr. T, John Glenn, President Donald Trump, Bill Clinton and other presidents too, toooo many to list. But if you’re in the Toledo area, you should make a stop here and take a look at the buns on the walls. It was pretty cool.

Packo's used to be an absolutely mandatory stop for me and my friends any time we were passing thru Toledo... Sadly, I no longer wish to visit their restaurant, as it seems they are now choosing to price gouge their loyal customers. $20 for a hot dog (MOAD) is excessive, and charging $4 for an incredibly small bowl of mac & cheese is utterly ridiculous. After spending $33 to feed ONLY myself (photo attached), I've decided that my last visit... was my last visit to Packo's. EDIT TO RESPOND TO PACKO'S REPLY: I understand food costs have increased, but it seems that Packo's has taken that opportunity to gouge their loyal customers. Charging $4 for a SMALL bowl of mac & cheese is beyond excessive, as it consists of literally 4 or maybe 5 bites in that small bowl. I struggle to consider Packo's has even 20 cents invested into that serving. Same goes for a $20 hot dog. Your markup is extreme. Don't get me wrong, I'm not attacking your decision to do business as you choose. I'm simply offering feedback so that you will have a better understanding as to why the return rate of your customer base is slowly dwindling. I used to look forward to visiting Packo's, but I must sadly accept that it will no longer be a stop of ours as we pass thru Toledo, nor will I recommend it to any of my friends or family.

This is it, people. There are now 5 Packo's locations, but this one is the first, the original Tony Packo's, the real deal! The place is almost always packed, but the wait is rarely long. But long or short, any wait is well worth it. The food and service are amazing and everyone always leaves happy. The food and atmosphere are also as famous as they are timeless, because it's the same Tony Packo's today as it was when it began in the 1930s. If your in the Toledo, Ohio area, Packo's is an absolute must go. Packo's also has a gift shop for souvenir shoppers, where Packo's famous chili can also be purchased by the can. Actor Jamie Farr, who is also a Toledo native, was cast as Cpl. Max Klinger in the popular television show M.A.S.H., and helped make Tony Packo's famous with an episode that featured Packo's food, and the shipping box prop from that episode is now on display at the Front Street Packo's location. I've been visiting Tony Packo's on Front street since the early 1990s, when I was in and out of Toledo on one of the many bulk freight ships that frequent the Lake Erie port city. There are hot dog places all over the country, but there is only one Tony Packo's, and this is it!

If you’re into quirky atmospheres, this place is a hotdog lover’s dream. The walls are covered with buns signed by celebrities – it’s like a Hall of Fame for hot dog aficionados, but with less "sports" and more "saucy celebrity vibes." The vibe? Totally fun. The service? Well, let’s just say you’ll have plenty of time to enjoy the décor, because it took about an hour to get our hot dog and fries. Slow? Yes. But hey, good things (like the Coney dog) come to those who wait. Speaking of the Coney dog, it was delicious. I went for the gluten-free bun, and let me tell you – it was a soft, warm, bready hug. The fries, however, are not gluten-free due to the shared fryer. As someone who isn’t overly sensitive to cross-contamination, I took the plunge and enjoyed them anyway. But for anyone with Celiac – just be warned, the fries are off the menu for you. No worries though, gluten-free folks! You’ve still got options like potato salad and coleslaw. So if you’re craving a Coney dog and need to avoid the gluten, you can still chow down like a champ. Would I go back? Absolutely! But next time, I might bring a book – or a comfy chair – to make the wait more glamorous.

This is one of the rarest places I have ever been in. Every tile and lamp gives the atmosphere a rich gaze into history. It’s claim to fame lies in the 1970’s war comedy M*A*S*H where one in f the main characters played by Jamie Farr. This place has lasted almost a century and once you sit down inside its clear why. Rob and Amy helped us out, we have a son with a serious allergy to artificial ingredients and anything that goes in front of him must be checked and that’s not an easy task for an allergy that is as prevalent as gluten allergy’s were in the 90’s. We’re super impressed that the manager took his time coming back close to a dozen times trying to find foods that my son was able to eat. I appreciate the time and patience that takes especially since it was pretty busy and Rob took that extra time that is a hallmark of exceptional service and gave us several great ideas of where to go while we are visiting Toledo OH. The food was amazing and homemade and the hot dog sauce is classic. Great variety of American and Hungarian cuisine that even kids like. I will definitely return! Eating a Packo’s dog really has changed my life!
