Anyone who can remember back to when I-280 sole means of crossing the Maumee River was The Craig Bridge can tell you what a blessing this bridge has been. Not only is it esthetically pleasing to the eye (notably changing the Toledo skyline in a bold way). But it is so practical as well, no longer requiring traffic to stop at a draw bridge and wait with bated breath when a large freighter passes through. Hoping and praying that the draw bridge would come back down. There are a number of city parks near the bridge, as well as two freighters, and a Great Lakes Museum.

A beautiful bridge made more beautiful with the colorful lights that turn on at night.

Bridge gone dark due to a computer issue that controls the LED lighting for the bridge, over 350 thousand LED diodes have gone dark due to this issue, the computer and lights were a mere $650,000 price tag of the $235 million dollar bridge and ODOT has not been really looking for a solution for this fairly new construction project. I would suggest finding a company who builds the bill board displays in town and get with them in making a solution for this "NEW" construction project, everything has a warranty even though the system supplied is 10 year old technology it still was new when installed, which was 10 years ago. Heres a plan upgrade the system with a newer system that stays one...

The Veterans Glass City Skyway Bridge is a marvel of modern engineering that also possesses a striking beauty. Its sleek and contemporary design, characterized by its graceful curves and towering height, creates a captivating silhouette against the skyline. The bridge's glass-walled structure allows for breathtaking views of the surrounding landscape, whether it's the shimmering waters below or the cityscape stretching into the distance. The interplay of light on the glass panels adds a dynamic and ethereal quality to the bridge's appearance, making it a true architectural gem that seamlessly blends functionality...
