We’ve been to pretty much all of the breakfast places around Tolland and surrounding towns and have never felt so unwelcome as we did this past Saturday at Monet’s. My boyfriend and I and our 15-month old son arrived around 10:30am and it was not busy. We were seated immediately, but the host made a condescending comment while bringing the high chair over about how he would “clean up all the crumbs that would probably fall.” Our direct waitress was polite enough, but the rest of the women who were waitresses seemed like they were annoyed by our presence. One of the women even used profanity as she walked by our table - not directed at us but just as part of the conversation she was having. The food came out and most of it was okay, but WAY overpriced and under-portioned. It was $46 for an egg sandwich, cornbread french toast (which fell short on the french toast front), a muffin, and a small plate of home fries. My suggestion? … go a little further down the road to Mitchell’s and get twice the amount of food for about half the price. We won’t be going back to Monet’s Table,...
Read moreWe just had our daughters small wedding reception at Monet's table. What a great decision. From the moment I started working with Deb the owner, it was a breeze. I felt comfortable leaving some decisions in her hands as she had the experience. She gave us so many menu options and suggestions. The food we chose was delicious and not your regular wedding fare. Great taste with homemade pesto and horseradish embellishments for on the side of our main meal. Some of appetizers we chose were mini meatloaf , pretzel bits, and salmon crepes. All food was made there and you could tell by the taste. Our guests all commented on the great meal. The servers were attentive and always ready to help. It's the cutest house with history and has a nice intimate feeling to it. There's a gazebo and fire pit for wonderful picture taking and even though ours was at night we got some great pics anyway! I wouldn't hesitate the eat there as they do brunch or have your small event...
Read moreVery expensive for what you get. $12-$17 omlettes that do not come with anything but toast (which was good). Everything a la carte including every item you add to your omlettes. Went for brunch but the menu options did offer much more than omlettes and breakfast items, not much for lunch choices. Spent $3.50 on a very small plate of home fries which should be included w the omlettes. The flavored coffee was so watered down it tasted awful. Cutting corners there. Juice listed as $3 was charged $4 on the bill. Service was friendly and average wait time for food to come out. Will not go here again. Spent $45 not including tip. Crazy amount for an ok breakfast. Nothing special for sure. Building is old but neat and tidy. Very loud atmosphere as the acoustics are not great and there are lots of people for the...
