I recently had the pleasure of dining at Aamantran Indian Cuisine located at 1594 Lakewood Rd, Toms River, NJ 08755, and I must say, it was an exceptional experience from start to finish. This restaurant truly stands out for its remarkable hospitality and delicious food. From the moment we arrived, we were greeted with warm smiles and outstanding service. The owner and the staff were incredibly helpful and went out of their way to ensure we had a fantastic dining experience. One of the first things I noticed was the ample parking, which made our visit hassle-free right from the start. One of the key highlights for me and my family was that Aamantran offers halal food. This is very important to us, and we were thrilled to find such a great restaurant that caters to our dietary needs. The menu had a wide variety of dishes, all of which were flavorful and delicious. Every bite was a testament to the skill and passion of the kitchen staff. What truly made our visit memorable was the personal touch from the owner. The father and son duo were tremendous, sharing fascinating stories about the history of the location. It was wonderful to see such a humble and passionate family running the restaurant. The owner’s ability to speak multiple languages was impressive and added to the welcoming atmosphere. It felt like we were guests in their home rather than just customers. The servers and staff were just amazing. They were attentive, courteous, and ensured that we had everything we needed throughout our meal. Their service was impeccable, making us feel valued and well taken care of. In addition to the fantastic food and service, the ambiance of Aamantran Indian Cuisine is warm and inviting. The decor reflects a rich cultural heritage, enhancing the overall dining experience. The restaurant is clean, well-maintained, and exudes a comfortable and welcoming vibe. I am already looking forward to my next visit to South Jersey so I can dine at Aamantran Indian Cuisine again. This restaurant has left a lasting impression on me and my family, and we are grateful for the wonderful experience. Thank you to the owners and the entire team for making our visit so enjoyable.

4.3/5 Experienced a nice sense of childhood nostalgia when I dined in with my mom and sister. Growing up in Ocean County, there weren't many local Indian restaurants we could enjoy and Aamantran was the go-to. I remember it was a childhood treat when we could dig into some naan and chicken tikka masala! Now that I've had the opportunity to frequent other Indian restaurants, especially when I was a student in New Brunswick, I truly appreciated having the ability to place a custom order here with the server. He really knew his stuff and catered to my extreme spice preferences, even going out of his way to give me a special pepper paste to top my Vindaloo with. The goat meat I had was tender and while not pictured, the bread was still as good as I remembered it. Well done, Aamantran! 🌶️

3 stars for the buffet when they had it. It’s long gone now though. It wasn’t exactly authentic in flavor but it was priced fairly and it’s the only Indian in OC. For proper flavor and intense curries you’ll have to head to Edison and one trip to Edison and you’ll taste the difference. So anyone saying the best or authentic has no idea what they’re talking about. Definitely not the best in the world as they advertise. I’ve had more intense flavor from frozen Indian entrees that Lidl sells.

To the owner and his reply, The Indians I saw at lunch over the years dining there work locally in the medical offices and hospitals. It’s a captive audience with no choice and it’s not like Jersey city or Edison residents are driving here to eat at your place. That’s hysterical that you claim that. Read your own reviews, lots of Indians say it’s very basic on flavor and I agree. The other ones are probably your relatives giving fake reviews. I am from the north as well, your food is average! Go have dinner in Edison or JC and then compare it to what you serve and you’ll instantly see a MAJOR difference from your curries. You cater to basic eaters who don’t know what’s it’s actually supposed to taste like. That’s a fact. I just checked your menu, you are now charging $4 for a can of soda, geez. I read lots of complaints on portion sizes and overpricing but you must have some major debt to be overcharging like that. I just dropped you a star for your lying claims. Tell us all how you advertise “best in OC” when you never competed or won that title in any way? Not to mention you are the only Indian restaurant in OC. That’s like saying Subway makes the best sandwiches. Get real, even Monmouth county has award winning Indian, OC has zero. Zagats rates you only because they need to rate something here and you are the...

We were in the area working at a wine festival this weekend and one of our customers recommended this restaurant to us. I guess our love of Indian food comes through as we describe one of our wines. We went for dinner on our way home at the end of the festival and were really pleased that we did. We eat a lot of Indian food. We frequently go to Indian restaurants in Delaware, but have been to the all over New Jersey and actually, the eastern US, as well. This restaurant really hit the mark for being exactly what we look for. The seasoning of the food was very complex. The chef really knows how to use traditional seasonings to advantage. The two entrees we ordered were very different from each other and complimented each other. The menu is rich and varied, and contains many items we want to sample. Service was by people I believe to be the owner and his family. Everyone was cheerful and worked together well. And the owner and I had a very nice conversation at the end of the meal. I also like the decor of the restaurant. I felt very much at home there and of to one side near the back, there is a rounded glass window through which you can see two of the restaurant's tandoors. We watched the chef preparing and cooking naan in the tandoor and it really topped off the experience. You could easily overlook this feature of the restaurant, but don't; it enriches the experience. Even though we live an hour and a half away, we will return to this restaurant soon with friends. We look forward to sharing this experience...
