The Tavern @ Centre and Main — Restaurant in Topton

My fiancé and I were so excited to try this place after reading the reviews and looking at the pictures online. When we got there we were immediately greeted by staff and told to pick a spot. We sat inside in the second room, which seemed like a great spot at first until we realized that it was bingo night. The caller didn’t have a microphone or speaker so he had to run back and forth from the bar, to the second room, and then outside to call the bingo numbers (props to him though for making that effort).

We sat inside and ordered our drinks, my fiancé had a beer and I started with a soda. They came out quickly and then we ordered our appetizer and entrees. Once the app came out we made the decision to move outside because we were having trouble hearing each other inside (no big deal, it was a nice day outside).

The Buffalo chicken dip appetizer was delicious, but everything else not so much. My shrimp tacos were disappointing to say the least, and the fish and chips were freezer burnt and served without sauce. The worst thing we ordered was the margarita. There didn’t seem to be any simple syrup or lime in it at all, just straight tequila and water with some ice. I had to give the lemon from my other drink to make it palatable. Photo for reference.

Came here as soon as it opened for my Dad's birthday. Unfortunately, the experience was not great. The first thing we noticed was that only one server was working and she was all over the place. When we sat down, we waited 10 minutes to be served our drinks. And then another 10 minutes for her to take our order. There was only two groups of people in the restaurant, us being on of them. I understand being short staffed, but not being able to handle two groups of people (maybe 10 people total)? The server was not friendly and seemed to be frazzled. After placing our order, we waited 15 minutes for our food. Our appetizers came out looking absolutely abismmal. The French onion soup was horrible and the tater tots tasted good but had barely any of the toppings advertised. After another 10 minutes our meals were severed. The burger was extremely dry and the bun was hard. The salad was disappointing with barely any effort put into it. The cheese steak was overcooked and haphazardly plated. The server also forgot to serve usthe broccoli cheddar soup. Whcih had a terrible metal taste to it. Overall, the burger went uneaten and so did the soup. For $83 worth of food, it was not worth it...

I ordered online, and sent my husband to pick it up. They handed him the wrong order and had to start over. My pierogies were COVERED in red onion when I opened the box. I didn't order onions and am not allowed onions for medical reasons, so I'm not pleased. The cheesesteaks are absolutely delicious with the homemade rolls. I probably won't do takeout again, but I will come back. I just hope they figure out not everyone wants or needs onions & if they aren't ordered, DONT put them...
