We booked through the Market Cafe for our wedding and I have to say that utilizing their catering services was arguably one of the most enjoyable experiences of both our wedding planning and the day of the wedding. If you have ever been part of or even witnessed a predominantly DIY wedding then you know how a lot depends on quality, efficiency, and organization of the vendors - of which the Market Cafe and their staff exceeded all our expectations. At this point I would like to breakdown their services so any future consumers can get a better understanding of our experience.
Food: Overall excellent. They have a variety of choices covering appetizers, salads and soups, fruit and vegetable plates, entrees, and desserts, and even hot dogs and hamburgers. We were able to do two tastings prior to making our decision which was perfect because there were honestly way too many choices to sample all in one sitting. Now, if you are looking for a catering service to provide expensive, high quality steaks or seafood platters then this may not be your place, but it should be noted that these types of foods are not this cafe's niche in the culinary realm and this should not deter customers looking for an enjoyable meal.
Service: Far exceeded our expectations. Superb service. The caterers were punctual, organized, and adaptive to the chaos which is anticipated on any wedding day. Our contact person coordinated the day's events with both our DJ and photographer so that everyone was on the same page (say goodbye to that expensive wedding coordinator!). Staff was friendly and approachable. They even took the time to clean all our tables and wash our dishes - which were all rented and needed to be cleaned by us prior to return. This was above and beyond what we expected. These are kind and good people to work with. Even if everything else was mediocre (which it wasn't!) I would work with this catering service again just because of how well they treated us.
Price: Naturally this is an important factor as well. Their prices are based on current market pricing of the food items that you select. Putting this shortly that means that their pricing is competitive and fair. We cross referenced prices with many of the "all inclusive" type wedding venues and found that the prices per person were impressively cheaper going with the Market Cafe. To give some perspective our cost per person for our wedding was about $23 per person. This including cocktail hour appetizers, a fruit and vegetable tray, three sides, and two entrees. This fed all of our guests with enough for seconds and even thirds for those that wanted them. We did not utilize their dessert options as we have a family friend that personally made our wedding cake. For those not familiar with some other wedding venue costs, the per person cost for food (alcohol not included) can be upwards of $50-75 per person if not higher.
So I know this is a long review but it only goes to show how much we loved their service. These are good, honest, hardworking people. I would highly recommend their service to anyone looking to cater any event, not just weddings.
And if any staff reads this review I just want to extend our thanks for everything you've...
Read moreWE LOVE MARKET CAFE! I got married last weekend at a very unconventional venue. It was a rustic barn that didn't have running water... The staff at Market Cafe handled this situation with such ease. Alex, the owner, showed up the day before the wedding when we were setting up just so that I could ask him any lingering questions in person. He was absolutely wonderful the whole time and happy to answer any crazy questions I had while trying to put me at ease. I have a family member who has a lot of allergies, and Alex personally met her before dinner was served, assembled a special plate for her and hand delivered it to her seat so that she didn't have to be worried about any allergens in the food. I have a sister in law who is vegan, and they offered to make a specific plate just for her so that she could still feel included in the dinner. Not to mention, their food is to die for and their prices are super reasonable. My wedding was close to 150 people and it was HOT that day. The entire crew worked their butts off to keep everything fresh and restock water to keep us all hydrated. They even poured us a champagne toast and cut my cake at no extra cost. I very highly recommend the whole team, and would pick them to cater my wedding again if I had the...
