I am in Iron Mountain, MI area for a work project and went here tonight for dinner. I ordered the Saturday special: Prime Rib. The steak is EXCELLENT. I requested it to be cooked medium rare and the temperature was on point. The meat was so soft that it melted in mouth. I got the soup with it and today they had French onion. This dish was also delectable. They put the perfect amount of cheese on top. I was not a fan of the breadstick. It was quite generic. But I didn’t mind because everything else was fantastic. The service was great. The staff was attentive. The hostess and waitress had me in and out in a very reasonable amount of time: I was seated right away. The atmosphere was fun. People were having a good time and enjoying the food. One side of the restaurant was the restaurant and the other side was a bar. The lights were slightly dimmed which created a nice ambiance. My only main complaint with this place is none of the staff members were wearing masks. Currently the pandemic isn’t over and numbers are increasing drastically. I was a little uncomfortable. Luckily I was 6 feet away from everyone so I think I managed safety. Also, it would be more appealing if this place offered take out. I would love to go back and try their lamb chops. But due to staff not wearing masks I will not return here during my business trip. I highly recommend the food! I would give this place 5 stars if the staff wore masks.

My husband and I went for the prime rib special on Saturday. We got there as close to the 4:30 opening as possible because it gets busy fast. We had 2 drinks at the bar and our table was ready. The old fashioned was very good. There are so many sides to choose from, not just a potato side. Our salad was at the table and our little loaf of bread was brought out soon after. Our prime rib was then brought out. I got the queen cut with a side of scallops and a baked potato. My husband got the king cut with the twice baked potato. The food was steaming hot. You also got a choice to have a side of fried onions, horseradish, and mushrooms on the side with your steak. My husband got the onions and the horseradish. I will definitely be getting all three on mine the next time. The onions are like onion rings without the breading. The horseradish cones in a little dish incase you don't want it on all of the steak. Our little loaf of bread was so yummy dunked in the juice of the steak. You can choose the loaf of bread or a breadstick. The flavor of the prime rib was spot on. The wait staff was super friendly and very attentive as well. I highly recommend this place and can't wait to go back.

The service was okay, but everything felt a little weird and confusing. You sit at the bar and order a drink (no food options) while you wait for the hostess to have a table ready and she takes your order at the bar. The wait can be quite long. Our party of 3 waited 45 minutes to be seated. I ordered the smothered sirloin, side salad and mash potatoes, and a side of fettuccini Alfredo. The salad…wasn’t a salad. It was a bowl of lettuce with a slice of tomato. Literally. Not spring lettuce. Taco ice burg lettuce. (Only pic I took) so you can make a judgment based on that how the rest of the meal will be. The steak was cooked fine, texture was fine, etc. The issue was the onions were NOT caramelized, and the mushrooms were out of a can. There was so much butter on their small plate I was afraid it would come sloshing all over me. The loaded mash potatoes had bacon bits in it. The Alfredo sauce was canned. Bread was good. I’ve heard great things about this and I’m extremely disappointed in the experience. It is not worth the price tag.

The food was decent, not great. Will not go back. Many people like this place, so to each their own. If you’re from a big city, this place will likely not be a good experience for you. Choose your own adventure.

To describe the service, it is an eat and get out (aka Chew & Screw) vibe. Upon entering at 430p, when they opened, we didn’t get directed to a table but we were sent to the bar to wait for a table and put in our order with the bartender. We didn’t wanna go to the bar, as we came for dinner and we wanted to go to our table. Despite us protesting, we went to the bar. We didn’t want to order from the bar, we wanted to order from our table like a normal dining experience. The hostess and the bartender gave us pushback about not ordering from the bar. Around 5 o’clock, they brought us to our table and allowed us to order from the table because we refused to order from the bar. The wait staff seemed to be bothered by the fact they had to take our order at the table. We get our food and half of our party did not like their food. We felt rushed the entire time we were eating and then one of the people in our party wanted to get a dessert drink, and the waitress told us that we’d have to order it in the bar because they need the table for another party. I asked the waitress if I ordered an actual dessert if we would be allowed to remain seated at the table and she said yes. So, I ordered dessert I didn’t want and didn’t enjoy, so my friend could enjoy her grasshopper drink at the table. It was not reasonable for the amount of money that we were paying that my friend would be forced to go to the overly cramped bars within the restaurant just to have her dessert drink while the rest of our party stands around because we are ready to go at that point.

This ordering process may work for some people however, my expectation when I’m paying for a dining experience is not getting pushed back, not being rushed, not being forced to do or go someplace in the restaurant that I don’t want to go (the bar) And I don’t wanna be rushed or...

It was a while ago, but this has lingered... I invited two business managers out for nice dinner, trying to find the nicest place I could take them... this restaurant was recommended.

we went about 7:30PM and they asked that we have a drink or two at the bar while we waited for a table-- no problem, and the drinks were good. Then we were seated and enjoyed their featured steak dinner... about half way through the otherwise normal business dinner, the owner came up to our table, and announced that we had to leave "right now." we had been quiet, and it was well before the restaurant closed but he was aggressive and belligerent. I was totally humiliated in front of the business people I was trying to impress. I stood up, we walked outside and were followed by a very apologetic waiter. I tipped him since this did not appear to be his fault, but I was not going to pay the bill (obviously, in my opinion).

A few days later the owner tracked down the local guests that I had entertained, and sent them a threatening letter demanding payment for our uneaten dinner or he would take them to court. Unfortunately, they paid rather than have this become a time-consuming event which was likely to be embarrassing for the owner, at best.

I can honestly say that I have entertained business people all over the world, including some pretty tough areas of Colombia, Brasil, Turkey, and Greece. NEVER have I seen or been a party to any such unbelievably unprovoked nastiness and rude aggressiveness as I suffered in this hellhole.

Not exactly the place I would recommend to the passing visitor-- probably the local folks have already written...
