We finally tried this place for breakfast this morning, and the food was very good, however the service was poor, and dirty dishes are a huge ick. The dining room was also crawling with lots of flies. Gross. Both of the cups we were given with our orange juice were visibly dirty on the inside and outside of the cups. When I pointed it out to the waitress, there was no apology, she just literally said, "OK. Do you want something else?" We chose not to order any drinks at all because of this response. The waitress was kind of rude and uncaring the entire time. I didn't do or say anything wrong, but I felt like she immediately disliked me for no reason at first sight. That's the way she treated me, at least. We walked in, and they said we could sit anywhere. We walked around a bit to check out the place and then found a table near the window we liked, so we sat down there. The waitress came over with menus and cutlery, and I pointed out that the table appeared to be dirty still and needed to be wiped down. Her response was to set the menus and cutlery down on the table adjacent to us, and rudely said "well you can sit here then, since this table is clean". After the food arrived, the dirty cups of orange juice were pointed out to the waitress and after that, she never came back to ask us if the food was alright. She returned later only to drop off a check that I didn't ask for, while we were still in the middle of eating. So she didn't check on us, ask us about the food, or ask us if wanted or needed anything else. She simply dropped off the food and came back a few minutes later to put the check on the table. Honestly, this waitress did not deserve the tip I gave her, but I was once a waitress too, and I'm not a bad person. I just can't understand why I was...
Read moreWe came here about 3pm on 9/11/19 for soup, salad and sandwiches. One other couple only. The soups were almost gone. What was left in the chicken noodle pot was very few noodles and chicken. The corn muffins and breadsticks were hard. We just about had to twist their arms to get fresh ones. The soup was never refilled. We had asked probably over 6 times about it. The waitress finally brought me a bowl from the back. It was ok but it was cold. The number one complaint is about the numerous amount of flies in the restaurant. They were on everything at the salad bar and also very bothersome at the dining room tables. I mentioned this numerous times to a few of the waitresses and they acted like it was nothing. They did not care. We were both very disappointed in both the attitudes, service and fly invested food in the salad area and flying around in the dining area. My feeling is this , since for a short while(about an hour) we were the only ones here in the dining room so they most likely figured why replenish and waste the food for...
Read moreFirst the good part - their food is indeed very good. Now the not so good: the prices are too high - $17 for Corned Beef hash, $13 for an omelette. Waitresses are not the friendliest, the one we had TODAY acted like she was doing us a favor. We were made to feel like we were taking up space even though there were always 2 empty tables the whole time we were there. Be forewarned that they do charge more for using a credit card - which is fine - so be prepared to pay cash. At least their menu does give both cash and cc prices, which was not the case back in the spring.
Yeah, I know - everything is high, blah blah. Well there are 2 other breakfast options in town much more reasonable and one also makes home made hash for almost half the price. And the waitresses at those restaurants...
