Customer Service was so bad it shocked my boyfriend and I. We came here for a Saturday night dinner because we had seen people recommending this place on TikTok. When we walked in the two 16 year old looking boys working at the front informed us that there would be a 45 min wait for outside seating. We had no problem and said we would wait. He gave us a pager and then told us we could wait at the bar. Before we headed to the bar, I sat at the front while my bf went to the bathroom. Another older couple walked in, said they wanted seating outside as well and the boys told them there was also a 45 min wait. But suddenly when another couple walked out, the boy said actually we can seat you now. Not sure if that happened because of ignorance or because they were so busy so we just let it go. Then we sat at the bar for 10 min and the bartender didn’t even acknowledge us…. like at least say hello and hand us a cocktail menu. She didn’t even look busy, probably was prioritizing her regulars for better tips. Our table was ready after like 15 min. When our pager buzzed the bartender finally acknowledged us and said enjoy ur dinner….ok.

Now it get’s worse we’re seated at this hightop and the chairs we’re super uncomfortable and not friendly for anyone with a heavier bottom. We’re about 200 pounds and barely squeezed in. But hey not their fault that the chairs aren't plus size friendly i guess. We waited around 15 min and no server had come up to ask if we wanted water or anything so my bf flagged down a boy cleaning a low table and asked if we could sit there. The chairs were more plus size friendly and they had no problem moving us! awesome! But what wasn’t awesome is that we waited another 15 min for a server to come up to us. I don’t know her name, nor do i care but she was the worst server we have ever had. We’re young, we both have worked several jobs and understand what it means to be flooded with tables and short-staffed but that still doesn’t justify the fact that she repeatedly passed our table and stopped at tables around us multiple times, it’s like we were ghosts.

The food was good but it definitely could of been better. There was about 4 chunks of chicken on my pizza and the elote was dry. Again just because you have good food doesn’t mean you stop caring about service.

No smiles, no enjoy ur food, no can i get u anything else, no i’m sorry it look me so long to get to here.

She would even walk away before we were done talking to her.

So embarrassing for such a beautiful place to have horrible service

Tumbled Rock DO BETTER. Train your staff and then...

A new restaurant and seemed pretty promising. Everybody loves a home brewery and something new to the table. The decor is a modern-industrial theme, which used to be a refreshing, new idea, but is a tiring design plan anymore. However, I'm impartial to design either way, so long as it's clean and the place definitely was, so positivity there. The large, overhead door created quite a draft, so the waitress allowed us to move tables, but the windows seemed quite drafty as well. We ordered the 'bread service' for an app, Swiss french dip with what I believe were roasted veggies as a side, and their house burger which comes with chips and pickled veggies. I was discussing subbing the chips for truffle fries which seemed to be no issue. Our drinks came fairly quick despite being busy, so that was nice. The drink selection was okay, nothing special. We did not try their beers, but may in the future. ---The bread service was nice: fresh-baked sourdough with pats of herb butter on the side. Very tasteful, delivered on a cutting board. Bread was not over done, just a bit crisp on the outside, soft on the inside, overall very well baked. Our main courses arrived shortly after and while the flavor was okay, there were some issues. ---My burger arrived well done. It was ordered medium rare. While it was still juicy and flavorful, I would've appreciated the med. rare as ordered. Could've used some more aioli, but not a huge deal there. The pickled vegetables were a blend of carrots, string beans, and cauliflower, a nice midwestern flavor and something you don't see every day. My fries were standard shoestring fries, not truffle fries as ordered. Upon asking the waitress, she said the truffle fries are only doable as a full, separate side. The upgrade instead of the chips was an additional $2.00. ---The french dip was okay. The presentation, was less than pleasing. Her vegetables and sandwich came out in a large, metal bowl, reminiscient of a dog dish, sandwich over veggies. The meat was fairly moist, but the bread was rather dry and there was no "dip" to be seen. No ramekin of au jus, but some seemed to be on the bottom of the bowl. The swiss was barely melted, if at all. The vegetables (a common mix of vegetables for putting in a stew) were hearty, but quite overdone, almost burned. With tip, we spent around $50 for the two of us. Food 2.5/5 Service 3/5 Atmosphere 4/5 I would like to try the place again, because things do happen, and most places deserve a second chance, especially when...

I came here yesterday for my birthday and we had a total of 14 people. One of my family friends was the first to get there and so they were the one to get the table, and upon their entry and telling staff we’d need a bigger table, one of the hosts said “well is all of your party here? If not we can’t seat you.” Her grand daughter is special needs and cannot stand for long periods of time so that in itself was just the start of our experience here this time around.

Then when I arrived with more of the party, no one even attempted to make contact with us. We stood there waiting but decided to just head straight to our table that our friends had gotten us.

Now to the service and food. Everything was fine except having to wait 10+ minutes to get a drink refilled. Everyone ordered food and it wasn’t until the end we were notified that the bill can only be split 4 ways for each table (we had 2 tables). We got the bill and it was only on one tab, forcing us to combine the whole bill between the 2 tables. Food wasn’t as good as it usually was, and our waitress was not that nice.

I celebrated my 21st birthday here and we had an AMAZING experience, drawing us back to this place. I celebrated another persons surprise party here as well, same experience as my 21st, and came back to celebrate again and was extremely disappointed!

After some of the party left, the remaining of us (3 people total) went outside to listen to music. We were rudely told “I just watched you guys walk out and grab this table, you can’t sit here, and if you’re out here wanting to listen to music you have to be on the lawn!”

As a person who works with people every single day, and is in the service industry, I was shocked. Our party commented about how everything has went downhill and I had to agree. I was NOT impressed! Especially for how much money we spent and the way we were treated. I’m not sure we’ll be back...

Popped in yesterday about 3:00 on a Wednesday....for online saying they opened @ 11....not many cars in the lot, ok by me! We made our way the Brewery building. Opened the door...all the chairs were still up on tables. Made a couple "hellooo?" no answer so we tried our luck at the Kitchen building..... there we go! You enter to a hostess and merch on the other side. She greeted us and we entered to an empty room except for one fellow so we had our pick of spots; we opted for my preferred standard height table. We were quickly greeted by the delightful Romanian Georgiana w a beverage menu, Wednesday tacos menu and a food menu. As I discussed the beers w Georgiana she said a flight of five was $12 and if I just wanted two 5oz pours it would be $10, so I opted for the flight. I appreciated all the informative & fun conversation w Georgiana. I opted for beers: Scottys Scotch Ale, Boats & Prost, Baggs Fly Free, Udders Up. & Copper Falls Munich Dunkel. All were pretty good, surprisingly I think the Udders Up cream ale was my favorite. We sat a few tables away from the roaring fireplace, but could feel the heat... thanks Tumbled Rock!! The space was bright and comfortable. I noticed a garage door & there is quite a space between the buildings....one would assume it may be quite the patio atmosphere in the right season!! I really liked that the location was easy to find but it's not in the hustle and bustle of downtown. I also caught view of the kitchen.....a big brick oven pizza oven... I'm sure puts out quite the meal. Thanks Tumbled Rock for being a great destination brewery that provided absolutely delightful staff serving good brews in an inviting atmosphere!! I truly enjoyed the large canvas prints near the top of the wall on the fireplace wall and the booth/parking lot wall. Cheers!

Did not expect such phenomenal food at a "brewery". Drove up from Waukesha-area and stopped for dinner after a cold December hike at Devil's Lake with my fiance and her (soon our) daughter. Food was off the chart. I had the bison meatloaf and lobster mac. Un-be-lievably good. Fiance had a burger she said was outstanding and daughter had the prime rib steak (which I had a good portion of and was amazing). I had a Seein' Dubbel draft beer (fantastic) and my fiance had some peach cocktail which she polished off quickly (and she's never a big drinker) I rarely feel compelled to leave a review about a dining experience but the food at Tumbled Rock is exceptional. I kept thinking WOW... this in Baraboo??!! I'd give 6 stars if I could. Plan to return and bring the rest of the family. Very conflicted. I feel compelled to try other things on the menu but that bison meatloaf and lobster mac is going to be hard to not order again. Fantastic facility. Great ambiance in the "kitchen". I imagine the vibe is even greater during warm weather with the outdoor spaces. Well done to the Chef and staff. Update 10/5/25: well we have now been to Tumbled Rock probably 8 times over the past couple years. NEVER had a bad experience. Food always stellar. Beer as well... hope they bring Seein Dubbel back soon. I have only ordered the bison meatloaf and lobster mac, so that's all I can speak to, but my fiance and daughters have ordered about everything else and loved it. Our favorite restaurant.

This is, without a doubt, the best brewery in the Madison, WI area. The staff is wonderful, the food is excellent and the beer is out of this world. First, the beer. Everything on the beer is flavorful. The descriptions are accurate, and you will not get any “off” flavors, or weird after tastes with this beer. All their styles are appropriate — you won’t get something that isn’t true to the style of beer. For example, in my experience, dunkel beers have been almost yellow. Here, it’s a very pleasing caramel color. The Glacial Drift Oatmeal Maple Stout is wonderful, with big notes of maple, but not overly sweet. These folks know their beer. The food is also excellent. Some places with extensive menus offer a lot of food to mask the fact that they make everything “ok”. Not this place. The wood fired pizza is excellent. The chilaquiles is perfect, and everything on the extensive benedict menu is wonderful. The hollandaise sauce is silky, smooth, the right heat and the right salt, which, as everyone home chef knows, is incredibly hard to do. Make sure to order a mimosa flight with your brunch. The staff is friendly, welcoming, inviting, and attentive. This is a brewery done upscale, with a comfortable atmosphere. I will happily drive the 90 minutes (one way) from my home to visit them again.
