Absolutely horrible experience tonight. I never fill out reviews but feel this was awful and need to. We ordered a burger, blt and mozzarella sticks.. after waiting over 30 minutes I noticed an employee eating food at the same counter where food was being prepared as well as that same employee boxing and handing out food no washing or gloves between his food and customers.. not like we’re in the middle of a pandemic or at least expect basic hand washing from our servers or anything! When I asked about our food the woman running it yelled at me stating our food took longer bc it was to go and stated her employee was eating in this manner bc he worked all day.. doesn’t make me feel better about any of it.. idk about anyone else but I won’t be going back.

  • in response.. first I asked about our food that should take a few min taking MORE THAN 20 min.

Secondly I only said I wanted our money back so we could leave (with our two small children) after waiting what we checked was closer to 30 min not 20 and ONLY after you rudely yelled at me.

Yes I did leave something out.. we watched our mozz sticks get thrown out after being forgotten and exploding in the fryer ..

and YOU are the cook yet it was the equally rude blonde I saw on the grill not you and it was the employee eating that was handing the food out the window mid meal and eating at the counter where the food was being boxed. Yes your employee should most certainly have a break HOWEVER they shouldn’t be eating where food is prepared, in sight of customers and ESPECIALLY SHOULDNT HANDLE CUSTOMERS FOOD IN ANY WAY WHILE EATING WITHOUT WASHING THEIR HANDS OR PUTTING ON GLOVES!

Yes you most certainly said my order took longer bc it was to go and then tried to cover after I said that was a ridiculous reason/ making to go food last!

I spoke to said customer after I left who said they called in their order which they were told and received in 10 min .. and couldn’t have ordered 5 min before we ordered..

Most importantly as a business owner you absolutely don’t handle it well. I’ve heard horror stories from your employees to your customers but gave benefit of the doubt until how extremely rude you were. . I have served 20 years in every atmosphere .. apologizing, admitting a mistake or simply being polite would have been understandable and we would have continued to wait bc I know how things happen.. but I have never dreamed of treating a customer the way you choose to on what appears to be a regular...

After spending the day in Corning recently, we were looking for a drive-in restaurant for dinner on the way home. After finding the listing for Emmie's, and reading the reviews, it sounded like a perfect ending to our outing. After placing our order (a grilled chicken sandwich, an order of (3) chicken tenders, an order of fries, and a can of Pepsi) at the order window, we found a place to sit at a table out front. Maybe six picnic tables with sun umbrellas on only half of them, and some smaller tables for the kids. Our food was ready approx 20 minutes later. All of the food was served up hot, everything tasted good, and nothing was overcooked. (Sorry, no photo of the grilled chicken sandwich). Our total bill for food and beverage totaled a bit over $19. We felt that was a reasonable price as we'd likely pay more at a walk-in, sit-down restaurant for the same food. The young girl who took our order at the window was friendly, patient, and very accommodating. Nothing fancy here, just good food and reasonable prices. Sadly, we didn't try their ice cream on this visit. Parking was more than ample. *The one improvement that I'd suggest is to install sun umbrellas on the remaining large picnic tables because some shade from the sun is really needed on hot, sunny summer days like when we visited here. Other than that, a really good experience beginning to end with nothing negative to report. We'd recommend Emmie's and we would eat here again. Thanks...

Ordered a "large" Reeses Pieces sundae and paid $5.... when I saw that it was about a small worth of vanilla soft serve w about a scoop and a half of crushed candles, whipped cream and half a cherry.... I went back up to ask why there was nothing else on my sundae and they said "its a candy sundae there's nothing else on it" and I said "well everywhere else puts more stuff on it for that price" the lady scoffed at me and said "oh well". Their prices are not reflective of their product. I realize its the end of the season but no reason for rudeness. I'd recommend going ANYWHERE else.....

edit

My mistake.... what actually was said was "you'd hafta order a pb fudge sundae w the candies and it would cost extra" which I then retorted with "if this is $5 how much extra are you gonna charge?!" my issue is not in the toppings (however better descriptions would help there).... My issue is with the fact that the "regular" sundae was at best a small (according to literally everywhere else I've gone) and costs nearly twice what it would have elsewhere. My issue is in pricing.... not descriptions... I wouldn't have been peeved had it not been so much for...

My wife and I stopped here on our way out of NY to visit friends in PA. She had heard of it but I had not. I have to say I was pleasantly surprised by the whole experience. The staff working the front windows were quick and efficient. Elvis was playing as soon as we got out of the car. It’s such a cute and nostalgic experience. There was a continuous flow of people for both ice cream and food while we waited for our food. We had chicken tenders to keep it simple. After eating, we ordered ice cream to eat while we continued on our journey. The prices were very reasonable and there was barely a wait, even with large groups showing up. We will definitely stop in again when we are back in the area.

Cute little place. I am certainly not an ice cream enthusiast butbmy toddler is, so a Medium cone was Way too much. The next time, I got a baby cone and felt satisfied. Lots to choose from for fast food or ice cream type/flavor. Plenty of parking. My tot likes running around the empty lot next door and watching the farm animals across the street. Reminds me of a place from home (I guess this is home now?) Anyway, thumbs up. Staff was, okay, maybe they were tired because it was the end of the day both times. No errors in my order, they just didn't seem enthusiastic. A veterans discount would be a nice gesture.
