My family is new to the area (here 1 month). We were looking to order pizza after a long day of travel and to have it delivered. In my Google search, I found that Slingerlands Station’s website had online ordering with an option for delivery. This was our first experience with this restaurant. I ordered 2 large pizzas and received email confirmation of when the order would be delivered. About 15 minutes after we were supposed to receive our order, the restaurant called letting us know our pizzas had been ready and sitting there for 30+ minutes. I appreciated the call. However, I was baffled because I was expecting delivery. They let me know they don’t have delivery drivers. Any delivery orders they take are through Door Dash or Grub Hub. Oddly enough, I did not order through either of those services. I ordered on the restaurant’s website. My husband drove to pick up the order because that was our only option at that point. By the time he got to the restaurant, the pizzas had been sitting around for an hour.
Clearly, there is some kind of issue with Slingerlands Station’s online ordering system. It allowed me to order delivery when that is something they don’t do. Unfortunately, my dinner order was the one to point out this glitch.
Even more unfortunate, the restaurant did not offer to make fresh pizzas or offer any sort of discount or way to make it right. When I ordered on their website, I paid for a delivery charge and a tip for the nonexistent delivery driver. They did not offer to refund that either. The only thing they said was that we had to fix it with Door Dash. But, we didn’t use Door Dash. In fact, our online banking account shows our money going to Slingerlands Station (and NOT to Door Dash).
This was clearly no one’s fault, but we were disappointed that nothing was done to make this right. At the very least, our delivery fee and driver tip should have been refunded. This restaurant got $15 of my money for a service they did not provide. I hope someone there takes initiative to fix their website’s problem so no one else has to waste their...
Read moreI've ordered from this place a number of times since it opened. The pizza is decent, but usually on the greasy side. I usually have to repeat myself once or twice because the person who answers the phone didn't pay attention to the order -- one large cheese pizza!
Today, I called for a large cheese pie just before closing. They said they were out of dough, but had slices. I ordered 6 cheese slices for pickup. I arrived a minute before closing and they charged me the per slice price for the 6 slices. So, although they couldn't make me a large cheese pie (8 slices for $19 and change), they charged me more ($20 and change) for 2 less slices. They could've cut me a break on the price. I had a long day and didn't feel like negotiating, so I just paid it. (The cashier was very likely the same person who took the order based on my experience in the past,)
Love having a local pizza place so close to home, but placing an order is usually not simple. The prices are also about 20% higher compared to other local places. A large pie was $13 and change before new owners took over. Not sure...
Read moreThe family running the pizzeria were very nice. The pizza does not taste good. The sauce has a poor flavor, too little sauce is on the pizza and the dough isn't quite right... is stiff like a hard cookie. Pepperoni is not baked to brown on the pizza. Buffalo chicken pizza was dry, no blue cheese or celery on it and the crust was hard. Very poor quality and flavorless. They would benefit by learning pizza and sauce making from an Italian or someone experienced in pizza making otherwise their business will fail. The parking lot is terrible... it's shared with another business... you pull in at an angle... and have to turn...
