My wife and I semi frequented this restaurant, and always between lunch and dinner time so we would make conversation with the owners and the waitress creating a very warm and welcoming "welcome home" atmostphere.
I went to clark's myself very recently and after the staff was as cold as ice. They acted as if they hadn't seen me before. The Owner knew exactly who I was as she said "How have things been, I haven't seen you a while? A short time later I heard the waitress talk to the owners about me hearing every word of their conversation, they spoke about me as if I didn't exist.
I had a burger with fries deluxe. I get two pieces of tomato from the end of the tomato. An absolutely forgettable dining experience
The kicker. I asked the waitress for a vanilla milkshake. What do I get? Vanilla ice cream with milk mixed up. I said can please get some hot fudge drizzle please? She lectures to me that is a swirl. Hot fudge drizzle please. She adds fudge syrup and mixes it together. She says this is a twist.
On the way out, not one word. Good night. Good day. Say hi to the wife. Nothing. it's warmer in the Bering Straights.
There are many other retro-style ice cream parlor/diners. I assure you I will not be coming back with that...
Read moreStopped in for the first time to get ice cream on Sunday. The girl serving us was so unfriendly and made us very uncomfortable. We said “thank you” a bunch of times for taking our order, making our ice cream, taking our credit card, and giving us a receipt, and she literally said not one word back. Not a “you’re welcome”, “of course”, “sure”, nothing. Super odd and just left us with a bad taste. The ice cream menu is in small print and we asked a question about it and she just did not answer us… Ice cream was fine but nothing special. The server was very stingy with our toppings so the price was actually expensive for the minimal order we were given. Not sure if we will return, really not cool to make your customers feel uncomfortable, especially the friendly ones. Also not cool to not have basic...
